I read the reviews but there's not a whole lot of them up here. I come here primarily for the forums because these people make me laugh. I honestly don't see a whole lot to improve but then again, this is the only forum I have posted on.
Mark! I have a very serious suggestion:
Make it load faster.
As is, it takes -ages- to download and render each page (up to five seconds!), and this is using Opera (the fastest renderer on earth) on a 1.83ghz athlon with loads of ram and a 10mbit fiber uplink to the net.
Possible optimizations are text links instead of all the silly small images, lighter use of tables, stuff like that. I don't know what kind of server and bandwidth um is served from, but i think you could save a lot of bandwidth with a lighter page design paradigm.

Changes to the styles (text instead of images etc) will be made when the final version of vB3 is released. As it is, the site loads fine for me 80% of the time. The other time it's due to server load.

Opera never worked well with php for me. I use IE/MYIE2 for UM.

emm...what have power of computer in the case of loading site? internet connection is the reason
well I have athlon 3000+ and DSL line, so 1s is pretty fast I guess. so I should be better quiet

The site is great for unsigned/underground band information but it doesn't really have any general Metal information for none purist fans.

Who decides which bands are official enough? Do you see a future for this forum now or after the 11 new songs have been officially recorded? Jonas has, in his possession, three of the eleven. I believe more would respond to the forum if it wasn't in the abyss.
