Then, my one of my friends relatives gave me Evergreys - In Search of Truth, and i felld inlove! The album is one of the greatest peice of art i have ever heard... Now i litsen to Bodom, Priest ex... :headbang:

I think a friend of mine recommended Words Mean Nothing to me...or maybe I downloaded For Every Tear That Falls cause it sounded similar to the November's Doom song title (For Every Leaf That Falls). Fuck I really can't remember.

Hm. Narrowly missed seeing them at Powermad in 1999 (meant to go but I had JUST moved to Baltimore and my bank screwed up, so I didn't get there til about three days after the show was done. Was hugely pissed off about that, too.) Saw that they were playing ProgPower 2, downloaded a few mp3s from them and other bands that were playing, said "this is good stuff," and then after actually *seeing* them at PP2 I had to go find my socks after they got blown to the other side of the venue.

And that was how I became a little fangirl.

I saw them at that very same Powermad (1999) that Jaimek missed them at...always cool live show...and after actually hearing SDT a little while later I became hooked. RZ played ProgPower 1 with them, among many other great bands, and they blew the roof off the place! Even with a slight technical difficulty in the beginning, one of the best performances I remember seeing...
They always outdo themselves each and every time I have seen them live, and on album. Great guys...and looking forward to seeing where "the inner cirlce" takes them. Cant say enough about these guys.

I heard Evergrey on Musichoice, which is strictly a music channel(not videos). I turn on the metal station of musichoice whenever im makin somethin in the kitchen, cuz i cant see the tv, so i just listen to music. They played the Great Deciever everyday, and I got hooked! I looked everywhere for Recreation Day but no one had it! I finally found it after driving 45 minutes to one of those fucking HUGE Circuit Cities in Long Beach! Well worth the drive too :headbang:

Heard of Evergrey from a friend. I was impressed within the first 30 seconds. True
prog-metal and fine musicianship. Great stuff!

I was at a record store called Impulse Music by my house just browsing when they started playing some of the most amazing riffs and melodies i had heard. it turned out to be Recreation Day it had just come out that day. I bought my copy and was hooked since then. I then picked up In Search of Truth which I enjoyed better than Recreation Day. I actually picked that cd up at the show when they played with Arch Enemy and Hate Eternal. Hope Evergrey comes to Chicago very soon.

My brother played a tune through the telephone of his "new band". I didn't quite hear anything except that they were talented. Later I heard the preview of RD on Sesmic radio while watching a footie game, which I thought was ok. A month later I went down to the music store to get the limited edition of the CD. Once in the store, they played some really awsame stuff. It was excellent, and I thought, darn, if this was Evergrey - and it was. :p

Carina- about time, right?, lol

I discovered Evergrey when "In search of truth" was released with all the promotional stuffs (interviews, reviews, sampler Cd's, advertising... in the magazines, local radio shows...). In France, they begin to have promotion with this album.

btw, first post here, so hi everybody

I first heard them through a friend back in 1998.
That was the song "For every tear that falls" Otherwise I don't like The Dark Discovery that much.
My second time was meeting the band at a "battle of the bands" thing where thay acted as both jury and pauseband. Then they were playing "solitude dominance tragedy" between the bands which was released shortly after.
After the releaseparty for the album mentioned above Evergrey bassplayer Daniel Nöjd quit the band and Evergrey contacted Michael Hakansson to fill the spot.
And Mike is my boyfriend since early 1999, so after that I started to listen even more to Evergrey and I can honestly say that they are one of my absolute favourite bands.

I saw them on headbangers ball. When i heard the song Blinded i just kept replaying that song over and over again on my computer until i bought their new cd. Then just a little while ago i waited a very long time for "In search of truth" to come in to my local music store and that cd is also fantastic. P.S. PLEASE MAKE A GIG DOWN HERE AT HOUSTON TEXAS!

Well I heard them on a local metalshow on radio here in Gothenburg (Gordian Knot if any other GBG person remembers) the winter before the actual release of The Dark Discovery. They had an interview with Tom and played a couple of tracks as well where To Hope Is To Fear became my favourite. I had recorded the show on tape and listened to it over and over again and bought the album as soon as it was released later that year. Been a loyal fan ever since.

:loco: DJ Harvester of Sorrow on Seismic Radio back a few yeas. I remember hearing Nosferatu and it was all over. Wonder what that DJ is doing now? :worship:

Told my story more than once and i don't want to bring it up again that i walked out of the venue after 2 or 3 songs when i heard Evergrey for the first time in '99.

Last week i was in France for a well deserved ski-vacation. We went with a group of 34 people, the youngest was about 25 and the oldest about 50. I shared an appartment with 7 others, mostly older people with teenage kids at home. I got into a nice conversation with one of the females (mother of 4 children and close to 50 years old) about my musical taste when we came to the subject of the gigs i visited in the past few months. She got interested and wanted to hear some of Evergrey, she used to like hardrock when she was young. I gave her my MiniDisc player with the Recreation Day disc, surprisingly she liked it very much. So it could be a new Evergrey fan as of now.

Always nice to get people interested in the music you like so much even if it doesn't happen that much.

I was big fan of dream theater and once asked who I should check out that makes killer music. I was given the names evergrey, pain of salvation, and symphony X. I bought a cd each by the 3 bands and the rest is history. I finally got to see evergrey at this past progpower!!:Spin: :hotjump:

As for adding fans, I have made 15 people evergrey fans thru my self made compilation cds of various music I like. People get turned onto alot of music thru me.
