Right, been struggling writing this one... but i dug up some old material and it went from there:

ftp://sneapforum.CeltiaProductions....Black%20Neon Bob/MP3's/Rain (new mix).mp3

or:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=283678

One on top, called "Rain".

(edit: the song was incomplete, updated it with the right version now.)

- 4 tracks of POD XT goodness... criminal amp.
- Bass track is a pitched down guitar, backed up by reason bass for low end.
- drums are DFHS as usual
- Kick is sampled pretty much 80% of it... two different samples used, one including Andy's kick sample.
- Snare is sampled as well, 50% or so.

at 05:16 there should be a solo, have not done that yet seeing as how i suck at playing solos.

So yeah, what about the mix?

- That was wonderful!
- Bravo!
- I loved that!
- Ah, that was great!
- Well, it was pretty good.
- Well, it wasn't bad ...
- Uh, there were parts of it that weren't very good though.
- It could have been a lot better.
- I didn't really like it.
- It was pretty terrible.
- It was bad.
- It was awful!
- It was terrible!
- Take 'em away!
- Bah, boo!
- Boo!
- Boo!
- Boooo!
- That was the worst thing I ever heard!
- It was terrible!
- Horrendous!
- Well, it wasn't that bad.
- Oh yeah?
- There were parts of it I liked.
- Yeah, I liked a lot of it.
- Yeah, it was good, actually.
- It was great!
- It's wonderful!
- Ah, bravo!
- More!
- More!
- More!
- More!

You've done it again! Absolutely amazing as always Bob! I really like the sound with the Criminal model! I like it more than the Big Bottom ones. Im gonna try and throw a solo on it for fun.

Cheers dude!

Ya, get yo bad self behind the guitar and do the good stuff on that solo part...

Seriously though: good stuff!

you got your geetars sounding alot more naturel on this one btw!

Cool dude... was thinking the guitars might be too direct, but i'll have to check in a few hours or tomorrow to have a fresh set of ears again... i think my weekly flower arranging session will do me good on that one.

I love it! Production sounds great, and I really like the drums. The guitars have that POD feel but they still sound good. What I like most though is your writing style. You always maintain a very original flavor in your music which I love. My biggest pet peeve is when people rehash other band's styles a little too close for comfort. None of that exists in your music. Much respect to you sir!

Cheers Jackal and Splatt!

How do you get that low end thump?? It fits this music very well me thinks.

It's a combo of a self made sample of a kick drum blended in a sea of reverb and some low end added by EQ'ing, and a drop bass sample Sly posted on this forum.

sounds great man.. (guitars a little on the plastic side) i think with a real tube amp you would be dangerous... good work!

i love how it hits around 1:55ish. sounds really thick. the drums sound huge, the kick is awesome, and the snare sound too. Great writing as well. I like the change around 3:00.

you really need to get around to putting out a record. i would buy it in a second.

I have heard some of your stuff before nice but i could give real feedback when i have it on disc and i can hear it in other places then my computer speakers. Car, home stereo, boom box thats where it counts sounds good tho i bet tho if i put it in "EX.my house stereo" its gonna need low end and i bet those guitars are cranking so hard the drums alomst disappear. IMO im could be wrong nice

Tis the shiz! DO YOU FEEL LUCKY? WELL DO YA, PUNK? I think you did! Thats the biggest sound you've had yet Bob. Im actually sat here laughing cos it sounds so damn good lol. Drums are KILLER. Getting the next flight out of Bristol so you can teach me how to program drums like that, and with several cans of maternus in tow. I think the new amp setting is doing you more justice now also, the big bottom is quite a digital sounding patch in comparison. Legendary!
