What's the big deal about Demilich? I mean really, it's not that good. I just recently got a hold of Obscura and need to listen to it some more, but so far I can say that Unquestionable Presence and Elvenefris are easily better.

Unquestionable presence is better than 95% of metal albums.

Carcass, Vader, Nile, Behemoth, Arch Enemy, Decapitated, Entombed, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Morgoth and a few more. I listen to alot of bands, Souls Highway, You haven't seen my CD collection so fuck yourself.

Its not generic, those are good bands, the more succesful ones of the genre for good reason. Just because they aren't obscure doesn't make them generic so again, fuck you. I sense an elitist attitude and I dont like it.

Deicide is very generic,unispired. Deicide for 13 year olds getting into heavy music. Majority of their songs are structured the same also. Gimmick death metal.

'Obscura' is yet another album that ranks highly in my list of "albums that will blow your fucking mind"

people that don't believe this should listen to the entire album, not just the title track.

I've got Considered Dead and The Erosion of Sanity. The latter is my clear favourite out of the two. I really like them, and I'm sure I'd enjoy Obscura also.

As it's been mentioned though, I can never manage to be flattened by Nespithe. I've tried to get into it lots of times, to see if I'm somehow missing something, but I just can't help feeling that it's not what I want from a death metal album. Yes, the riffs are highly innovative, the vocals are unique, for good or bad, but I can't appreciate each song as a whole like I can with other DM bands.

And by the way, thanks to whoever mentioned Blessed Are the Sick - it inspired me to give it a spin, and reminded me how great it is! I'd much sooner listen to this all the way through than Nespithe all the way through, even though I can appreciate Demilich's appeal.

Although I think Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream is a touch overrated as is Entombed - Left Hand Path (despite both being ok). And I agree with J. Demilich is massively overrated. The music shows promise and is quite interesting, but the vocals are intolerable.

I like Carcass more than 'Obscura'.. I can't think that now because Carcass is more overrated. What does that have to do with what what sounds better to me. Obscura is not really enjoyable to me regardless if it's as intelligent as fucking nasa.

People who hate Demilich's vocals are just like those millions of people who hate growls, I'm thinking. It's just something that needs getting used to, it's certainly fitting enough in the context of Demilich's music.
