Hi guys. Anyone using Nebula's Cabinets can tell me how to mix 2 or 3 programs for different mic sounds?

One instance under the other ? Mmm...??

Thank you.

:headbang:

Hi,
I know 2 ways to do that :
- duplicate your track that contain the raw amp sound (without any cab sim), and apply an instance of Nebula on insert with the desired program on each track
- use pre fader FX send tracks from your raw amp track, with an instance of Nebula on each send track (and put the fader of the raw original track down, in order to hear only the FX tracks)

I prefer the 2nd one, because it also allows you to play in real time faster, as everything is fed from the same source track.

EDIT :
The 2nd way is better described here

Pre-fader fx sends like mentioned earlier.

Oh, and all lovers of the original Kalthallen programs, its time to become excited about his next library! :)

Great !
Can't wait to hear it !
Do you plan on doing other cabs ? (I would love to have an Uberkab and Orange PPC 4x12, and some softer stuff for cleans and leads, like Vox, Fender...).

Hit me up if you need some help on the labelling / folders... etc ;)

TRUIE, using two instances of Nebula in Reaper I needed to flip the phase on one 'cause it was sounding like phasing. How to set it Pre-fader send right?

Maybe I'm doing something not exactly correct.

I don't know how to set a pre fader send in Reaper as I don't use this DAW, but it should be explained in the Two Notes link I gave you earlier.

About the phasing issue I think it's normal, as I think Kalthallen's cabs are not phase aligned (Skaldir, am I right ?)
So it's like in real world, some combinations will work, some will give you phase mess, depending on each mic position.
Just try different combinations, flip polarity if needed and that's it !
If a polarity flip don't work, you can try plugins like Little Labs IBP (UAD only) or Voxengo PHA979 which allow you to tweak phase from 0° to 360°.

No, you're doing it right. Truie is right also.
Contrary to most impulses (inlc. mine) Nebula programs don't have the distance to the mic cut off. So most of the time mixing mic's there will not work (having different phases), unless you shift the second mic back or forward in time in the DAW. My IR's are alligned.
It's not possible in Nebula to allign the programs afaik. So it's just as it was with the mics.
Hope this was understandable :/

Thank for your time guys. Great info. So, just with the phase shifting they sound ok mixed. Skaldir your work is great.

A great plugin for aligning guitar tracks like this is MeldaAutoAlign. I can't live without that plugin for matching up multi-mic'd guitars!
