How to pronounce Jonas

I always thought that Jonas was pronounced with the Swedish language J. Then, I saw this interview with Mikael of Opeth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y69fZ5GdDxI He pronounces it with an English J. Is that how you really pronounce his name?

He does that because he speaks english in the intervju, and it just comes natural to pronounce Jonas' name in an english way. Most sandinavians do that.

Its hard to explain how Jonas is pronounced. The way the "o" is pronounced doesnt really exist in the english language, i think. Its something like the end of "go" when you say that in english, you kinda change the wovel from one sound to another when you close your mouth a little at the end, right? The sound at the end, is the "o" sound you are looking for.

The "a" is pronounced like "a" as in "a dog".

start by singing the classic son g"born on the bayou" by creedence..
then remove the "born on the ba" part, and you have a sound pretty similar to the "Jo" in Jonas.
the end sound like the hip hop "artist" Nas pronounces his artist name..
