It's worse when magazines put bands like My Chemical Romance the COVER of the damn magazine. (Blame SIT for the string ad though.) Schecter put a full-page ad featuring Jeff Loomis in the new GW issue which is cool! Hats off to Schecter for supporting Jeff.

guitar world isn't that bad. i actually find it interesting to read beacause its not all metal. since the other stuff is already in the magazine already i read stuff on people/bands/music i never normally would've.
guitar one is much better. But for great free lessons watch dave weiner's riff of the week series on youtube, or go to his website. Also asking nicely on Steve's or Chris Broderick's forums will get you some interesting and useful guitar information.
The reason why i hate guitarworld is that they:
A) discontinued the Nevermore column
B) they cover mostly mainstreamish stuff
C) There is more talk than lesson/tab
D)tThey are gay

Petrucci has put some very good columns in GW, i have been a subscriber for a long time, i like the magazine, yes there are very gay shit and bands in their sometimes...but i like the columns they have, thats the main reason why i get the magazines in the 1st place.
