I heard "St. Anger" yesterday . . .

I accidentally heard it last night...unbelievably bad, indistinguishable from your average nu-metal circus act except for the vocals (and James' range is shot) and borrowing lyrics from Damage Inc. further proves that this is a band with no respect for their legacy.

I too heard it accidentally last night. And I agree with Demonspell's assessment 100 percent. Truly pathetic. And James Hetfield's singing is laughable.

Ya'll missed my post from the 27th:

I'm listening to St. Anger (the song) right now on the radio.

Several things of note:
They finally fixed the guitar tone!!! It hasn't sounded good since 1991.
Lars can actually play fast still.
Bob Rock is a boring bassist. :)
Lots of tempo changes.
It doesn't sound anything like Metallica has ever done.
James' voice sounds AWFUL!!!

I like it though.

I have since heard it about 10 times and... no. Too nu for me, the only thing interesting is the drumming (ironic as Lars has put me to sleep over the last decade). Although James uses the F word which is cool I guess. o_O

I'm still going to be a dipshit and buy it when it comes out though, even though my last new Metallica purchase was the Black album.

Sounds like a download to me, but with all honesty, there is so much other stuff out there...just don't know how much of a look in this will get.

I know i'll hear more than I want of the new album thanks to my Metallica-obsessed buddy ^_^ bless 'im, 'e loves St Anger the song!
