I just kicked out two bandmates :( I´m shocked!

Hi man, first off I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out but you did the right thing in my opinion. If it was just going downhill inevitably, why prolong it and slow you down?

I just heard your songs man, :kickass: (loving deadman's poem and the meaty tone, great work on the recording and mixing) It's sad to hear that your band shall cease like this, but I'm sure you know what you're doing and will do what you can to get you on your feet again.

Thanks so much, dude :kickass: I´m glad you like my production! Lasse also did a great mastering job on gunman´s poem btw..and when I listen to it, I become a bit snivelling. But I´ll stay strong. Like GuitarGodgt said..I should be lucky actually. The band did not work anymore.

be careful and register it before the members who have been fired could do it and create a band with that name. That would be annoying.

You´re damn right, man! I reall should do this as fast as possible.

Thanks so much, dudes :kickass:

Hey Felix

The only advice i can give you is find some friends who want to form a metal band... and by friends i mean people who look in the same direction as you are.

In my case after being in a band for one year i face some sort of dilemma...
We had like one or two show per month and we were ready to record our debut album (the band did it for the record) but i can't stand the rest of the band members.... we were not friends and we did not click at all.

It was kind of hard to quit but it was the best things i could do

After that i begin a new band with my brother who has just been playing drum for six mounth and some good friends (we know each other for a long time but we were not shearing music duties). it took time to bring everybody up to date (like six month to have a complete band ready to record) but in the end it was really worth the extra-work ....

Good vibe, we got along great and we wrote the best music we could

Here's my two cents... hope it hels you in your quest

Just kicked out our second guitarist too, guy didn't seem to be into it anymore. Didn't wanna hang out with us, wrote 0 riffs in his 2-3 years in the band and didn't really do anything we asked him to. Also had crappy gear (especially his amp was rubbish... a broken down H&K Warp 7 :ill: that rattled). Played songs differently, creating a very crappy band sound because of that

Dude just had to go. It's funny though, I'm now better friends with our ex vocalist who's doing session gigs for us now since he got kicked out (in november). I was really disappointed when he left, I don't get that feeling with the guitarist.

Dude, I'm a bit late for that, but whatever ...

"Been there, done that!"
I was responsible for two direct dismissals. I had to give the final phone call to a drummer that never showed up to rehearsals and I had to kick out a singer. Then I was indirectly responsible for 2 guys quitting the band (we're still friends however - just different visions and attitudes towards the band).

Strangely I never felt really depressed or "guilty". Actually just one of that four dudes is or was really pissed at me - actually the remaining three formed a new band and - as stated before - we're really good friends. And at the moment I couldn't be happier with all that decisions. Our Line-Up these days is near to beeing perfect. Of course we all have different tastes and argue a lot, but I think we're doing a good job getting the best out of that.

Especially when the last two guys quit we definitly thought about giving up the name or even giving up the band in the remaining form - but we decided, that we all have good memories connected to the name and thus we wanted to keep it. As much as I hate our name itself - to me it's a living, breathing thing. It's the connection between me and my band-members and also the former members and I didn't want it to fade.

I just talked to Johnny (vocals) we´ll seperate in friendship. The result of the conversation was the recognizing of two absolutely different attitudes.

That really is the best way. Sometimes it can come down just two different approaches of playing music, or even the reason behind the making of music.

If it's just a difference of opinion, then there's no reason to end a friendship. If they are a complete deadbeat in both the band and the friendship, then yeah, it's time to hit the doomsday button.

Bands will always have this weird mix of a personal relationship and a business relationship. The sooner you can find your way through those the better. But until then it's a matter of finding out who fits the bill.

Don't feel so bad mate...you're closing a couple doors but opening windows :D

Wise words from all of you! I appreciate it A LOT, brothers. It feels good to be understood! And..I can laugh again.

I just remember @Spioraid wrote this funny Biography parody :) It seems you will be able to continue our Bandstory in your words, very soon. I tend to keep the name!

ACT OF RAGE was founded in 1704 after a spontaneous hand written letter to Johnny Brugger (dulcimer). I was the one who needed a dulcimer player to complete a song. After playing some menuetts together we began to think about forming a Band.
Some rather impolite and obnoxious band names like "You Fetch the Piss Pot" & "Slavery FTW" were debated. In the end we decided to baptize ourselves with the powerful band name ACT OF RAGE....

Hahahah pure gold :)
