Holy fuck, pain4 was considered the end-boss of shock images way back when I was 12 and first getting my thing going on gaming forums, but I've never seen anyone else mention it since then, and never expected to see the name again. In fact, I've never even seen it myself, I just pretended to in order to impress my older internet peers at the time (though I may have seen it without knowing through much time spent on Rotten, Ogrish, etc). I tried searching for it once probably a decade ago and never found it, and was convinced that it was too niche for me to ever discover it. I'm too much of a pussy these days to actually go searching for it, so help me bro, what in the fuck is pain4, and is it really the worst?

Is nu metal really that bad?

I don't think you really have to take that path since it's not 2002 anymore. Teenagers back then would wear hoodies with Slipknot and Korn logos so other people would recognize they prefer the heavy songs on MTV. The support those bands received worldwide due to media coverage was immense.

There's no MTV now afaik, or is there? At least they don't really play music anymore?

Bands like Korn and SOAD do have their unique sound though - that has to be said.

i did see it (or what i believed was it), possibly not intentionally, and i recall it being a collage of 20 or 30 diseased and mutilated cocks, but according to urban dictionary it also had decapitated corpses and ‘skinned body parts’, a real greatest hits compilation. i remember my friends and i used to joke about how horrifying pain5 must be.

i also just remembered one of the first avatars i had on this board was ‘bubgirl’, a cartoon version of tubgirl with the feces replaced by bubbles.

I spent most of my formative years looking up the most shocking shit on the internet. Most of it had little impact, but One Guy One Jar was the worst thing I ever saw. Absolutely horrifying.

The worst thing I ever heard about was from a rather twisted friend who said there was “fetish porn” where women wore high heels and stamped on kittens with them until they died. I could never watch anything like that. Absolutely barbaric and the women involved deserve nothing but the most prolonged and painful deaths.

i think i’ve seen one guy one jar as well, not a fond memory. i’ve never heard of that kittens thing though lmao. i remember a gay guy at university telling me he saw some ant porn and explaining it involved ants crawling over a dude’s bellend.

i think i’m pretty much desensitised to all images at this point but videos can still get to me. i saw ground-level footage of the immediate aftermath of a plane crash in ukraine not long ago and i struggled to get through that shit.

The uncle gets hit with a chainsaw in the neck first, they watch him wince a little then they fully saw his head off. But they didnt go so easy on the nephew, they pulled out a bowie knife and started hacking away at his head until it was fully chopped off. Then they put his head on his own back and gave his a slap in the face. I've seen a shit ton of brutal videos, but that one is by far the "worst".

How about older Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne?

Might as well get the best/most obvious ones out of the way first. Check out Motorhead, Dio.

Might as well sample a little of each subgenre to see which ones you're into also.

Thrash for sure if you like Megadeth. Death if you want something heavier. Traditional heavy metal and doom since you like Black Sabbath. Try out some progressive metal as well if you're into the longer songs of Megadeth, and the guitar solos.

... i think ill pass on that one lol. the plane crash one was pretty rough though, twitching children with broken bodies and limbs all over the place and whatnot. thankfully the quality wasn’t very good. it was on youtube believe it or not, stuff in cyrillic always evades the censors.
