I shall get to see Opeth for the first time.

That's great. I seen them for the first time last September.
That was also my first time seeing such a high energy concert.
I'm a big time Yes fan and Porcupine Tree opened for Yes a few years ago.
I really liked Porcupine Tree so I started gathering all PT and related projects and that's what led me to Opeth.
Well, that and a friend also was on me to give them a try.
Opeth is awesome live, have a blast!!! I can't wait to see them again.
 
As for seeing Opeth, I'm shit out of luck. My first experience with Opeth was a couple of years ago on Metalcamp. A friend of mine was so fucking annoying with "OMG Opeth" all day long so I refused to go and so I stayed by the tent and got really really drunk (believe me, today I'm sorry I did that). Then I actually saw them, again on Metalcamp, last year but due to heavy rain and (again) lots of alcohol I missed almost entire gig. I think I got to see 3 songs, of which, I am certain, one was Heir Apparent :) the last time I tried to see THE WHOLE show (this really pissed me off) was in the beginning of December in Vienna...guess what happened? The show was fucking sold out and didn't get the ticket :Smug: well anyhow, hopefully I'll see them on Brutal Assault :kickass:
 
Congrats on your first time, Jester! I'm seeing them on May 14th, it'll be my second time, almost exactly a year from my first time. \m/ I'm dragging my cousin along with me, it will be his first time.

congrats man the first time i saw opeth i was so excited, and i bought my tickets like right when they first went on sale for the tour so i had to wait for what seemed like forever before the day finally came it was a an amazing live show and an all around fun trip
 
Ill be seeing them for the first time on May 21st in Memphis.

Ive got some questions for people who have seen them before. Is there usually like a meet and greet or signing session? How early should I get there?

Just search the internets for some sort of meet and greet session a few hours before the concert, and after the show, sneak inside the venue and find the dressing room.. Worked for me!
 
I saw them last night in Istanbul. It was awesome to watch these guys live again. I very much liked it. However, sound setup was not really good we could barely hear Per' keys. Other than that, it was a fantastic concert. Setlist was:

Dude, damnare, that's the exact setlist they played in Ankara dude. I'm sure, I stole the setlists from the stage after the show.
