If Theocracy did a cover song...

I think it would be better if they did a song out of their genre. That way they could completely change it into a power metal song.

Maybe they should do like "No Quarter" by Led Zeppelin, or another song by them like "Achilles' Last Stand" or, "Battle of Evermore". THAT WOULD BE WICKED HUH?

I would vote for 'Carry On, O Wayward Son' by Kansas...that would be awesome as a power/progressive metal song.

^Why not? His top 8 albums are all secular.

I was just wondering, a lot of Christians don't listen to secular music.I didn't know his top 8 albums were secular, was just curious about his views on it.

But yea I know it sounds stupid but it'd be pretty cool/funny if they did a cover of Big Cheese by Nirvana.

^True....and given there's only about a dozen TRUE metal acts in the Christian scene that I know of (a little more) and only about half are worth listening to, you have to enter the secular realm at some point :p

Unfortunately, to me, a lot of christian music out there isn't very... good. Whenever I listen to most of the well known bands out there, it just seems to me like they flip through a thesaurus finding different ways to say, 'I love you God' or 'You are an awesome God' and then sing that on loop with a generic acoustic rhythm guitar track. To paraphrase matt "Shallow, unimaginative fluff"

Even worse, sometimes I even get the impression that the band isn't very religious to begin with, and markets themselves as christian simply because they know they'll have a reliable target audience.

Carry On My Wayward Son has already been covered by a Christian metal band, and I believe you might like it, I'm just surprised noone's mentioned it

Yeah! I actually have that song on my pc. The Showdown is pretty cool! I know Robert Wilson (Prometheus) listens to them too.

I love me some Showdown. Backbreaker is the penultimate to me. Chorus is good, but could use some better production imo. Out of all their songs, "Carry on" is one of my least favorites. It sounds like they had to do a lot of processing to the vocals (as David Bunton is not a great singer), and I think it is a hard song to do justice to.

Theocracy could cover Angra.

But I think it'd make much more sense to cover a pop song, metal doing metal is less noteworthy.

Are you joking? I sure hope so. Trying to imagine them cover "In My Head" by Jason Derullo... ugh!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME LORD!

Just wanted to add that "Carry on" was covered by another christian band called "Rachel Rachel". Besides the stupid band name they had two real good Rock-Albums. The special thing about this band was that this is an Woman-Only-Band...and i really love this Cover Version.

Wow: i finally found a video...never seen this before myself :

That's a much better cover than Showdown (this is not a song to do in a lower register...just sayin') . It's awesome that Kerry shows up in the Rachel Rachel video and does a cameo...

All I remember about Rachel Rachel is that they were one of the openers we had to suffer through before the actual concert that we were interested in got started (can't remember if it was DC Talk or Third Day or Petra).

no...wait...I got it...they could cover that annoying 10,000 lightning bug song/travesty by Owl City....you know, the one that's so annoying, I purposely forgot its title.
