no joke. and yes, i think its just as mediocre as ever. i mean serious. 'damien' is about 5 minutes longer than it needs to be. everything is pretty sub-par as far as IE goes...except the drumming. richard christy is obviously quite restrained, but its still the best drumming on any IE record.

oh yeh, i forgot to mention that i still really dig the intro the the phantom opera ghost. dont like that chick's voice at ALL though. and the lyrics are pretty rediculous.

That chick's voice is terrible, the vibrato is way too much :yuk:

I like Jekyl and Hyde, Dracula and a few others. It's not a total loss :)

Well, that drum machine on wolf and on some other songs that I don't remember sounds a bit ridiculous at times...
Anyways, I'm glad I didn't buy the cd... I'm not gonna buy any more Iced Earth cds either, seeing how John fucking zoomed out and is now floating in space somewhere thinking he's god and becoming a diehard patriot, writing songs about veterans and 9/11 and all.

drum machine? I was under the assumption that Christy played on all the tracks. If not, then this is the first time I thought a drum machine was a real drummer. Since I've never been fooled before (though I have thought some real drummers were drum machines due to horrible tone), I'm likely to think that you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Nah, it's not a drum machine...

Interesting.

So many Nevermore fans hate Iced Earth and vice versa.

I consider Horror Show to be the weakest Barlow-era album, but I still listen to it every once in a while. It's not a 'bad' record, IMO, just kinda below IE's standards.

I like Matt Barlow's voice and delivery a lot, and while the music isn't as versatile as Nevermore's, I feel it has a good vibe to it and Jon Shaffer is a good rhythm player to me.

I'll continue to be both bands' fan.
