Lol.. I agree. It's nice that it's tradition at this point, but a change would be good! I look forward to finding out wether or not they change it up.
 
yeah, i also think that storytime is a good way to start the show. As this album has an intro song they should play that one live;-)

im still wondering how they will perform song of myself. maybe only the first half of the song? or maybe as the last song before the encore? so that the poem will be played in the background during the short brake?
 
I love "I wish I had an angel" but I do think it's time to finish with another song if they've been playing that song at the end of each concert since 2004...
I could live with "The last ride of the day" being the final song at the Helsinki Icehall concert March 10th 2012!
Trying to picture Marco singing "Taikatalvi" alone onstage, the light only on him otherwise the whole stage in darkness... Not bad!
 
PS What do you think about the artwork for this album compared to the other albums? I cannot get over how cool the cover art is (not the one on the cover of the CD itself, though it's good too, but the cover art as you can see when entering OSA)!

It's definitely more crisp and detailed than all their others. :) It's really pretty.

Have listened to this CD more, I can safely say it's the worst NW album for me. I still like the non-experimental songs, but they've already gotten too repeditive for me. They are fun and catchy, but very repeditive so it's not the same experience I had with their other CD's....where I could always listen to them 1000's of times and always find something new to love. They just aren't as romantic on this one.

I admit I don't like Inferiart style that much, the Imaginaerum booklet shows an improvement if compared to the DPP illustrations (textures, colours, crispness etc), but to my eyes they still look too fake, too blatantly polished photoshop works. My digital illustrations have the very same issues, and Inferiart artists are far better than me anyway, but I'm a fan of Michael Komarck, Linda Bergkvist, Bao Pham and other insanely skilled digital artists, so they set my standards of digital paintings beauty :p I guess my main complaint about Inferiart's illustrations is about anatomy, the human figures look really stiff and sometimes the proportions are a bit off, some pictures look like matte paintings, with super detailed areas weirdly juxtaposed to more sketchy shapes. The overall quality is good anyway, some illustrations have a great impact (the Imaginaerum cover, the DPP side pendulum view, Slow Love Slow, From a Dusty Bookshelf...and I like the ice texture/gears thing a lot), some others are a bit meh (like, all of the DPP pictures, Scaretale, Turn Loose the Mermaids).
Imaginaerum booklet is anyway far better than DPP's, even just on a typographic level.
 
It ghas been a while since I have posted here. As for Imaginaerum: I am completely blown away. All my fears about this CD was blown to bits. I will post a review as soon as time permits.
 
I know. It has been quiet on my part. Things are a lot more calmer during THIS hiatus than last one. So, really needed to expand the horizons a bit before coming home. How u, C? Carl?

NIGHTWISH are proud to announce, that "Imaginaerum" has reached gold status in Germany, with more than 100.000 sold units.

Bandleader Tuomas Holopainen comments: "Germany never fails us! Only 5 weeks since the release and "Imaginaerum“ goes gold! Magical, wondrous, imaginative and grateful times we`re living. Huge thanks to all the fans and the fellowship of Nuclear Blast!"

Another gold level was reached in Greece, while the record already made triple platinum in their homecountry Finland.

But there are even more news to announce from Germany: also their former records "Once" has reched a triple gold level, and "Dark Passion Play" reached platinum!

I think that it's awesome that Imaginaerum sold gold in Germany! Does anyone know if DPP sold gold in Germany?

I got my amazing bundle of stuff from RoadRunner today! I got the CD, a cool Tshirt, and the amazing signed poster. I think I will frame the poster most likely. I'm very pleased, this is the first I've had my hands on a copy of the album as well.. I really like the artwork, etc. And I'm looking forward to listening to the instrumentals!! I'll see if I can take some pics of my loot and share it here, the poster is pretty cool.

Any other US fans just now get their copies of the album seeing as its official release was today?
 
Officially, yes. Unofficially, I've had it for over a month, lol. Amazon.com and the wonderful Cloud and MP3 album selections.
