Guys, Does all power metal have these high pitched vocals? coz i listened to one ensiferum (i think it was) song and music was rly cool, and at first it was scream/growls, but as soon as he started singing like his balls was being demolished by a bulldoozer i turned off the song. Are there any where they dont sing but scream/growl?

only singer i like who sings rly high is Vortex, i love dimmu borgir, and some of Borknagar is also pretty good, even though its clean vocals alot :) (dont flame me for listening to demon burger :( )

Getting a little off topic no, but I don't think anyone cares. A lot of what's considered melodic death metal has much, much more in common with power metal than actual death metal. For example, Children of Bodom and Sonata Arctica sound very much alike to me at times. Check your other thread, I'll post there because it's a little more on topic.

Yeah sorry :)

Another cd i (unfortunatly) am looking forward 2:

Cradle Of Filth - Thornography

Nymphetamine was a huge disappointment to me, i honestly dont listen to a single track from that album, but Sarah (the background choir vocalist) says that this is the best since the "Midian" album, and that she really likes this one, so now i cant wait to hear it.. just afraid ill get a huge disappointment once again

If u like Mnemic, you should listen to another danish band called Raunchy :) they are awesome.
I have all of Raunchy's cds :) and other bands like Mnemic are Sybreed which are awesome and Withering Surface but they broke up.
Also looking forward to Iron Maiden but that might suck who knows. I'm seeing them October though!
Dark Tranquillity's new cd should be awesome, don't know when the cd will come out, I think early next year.
I also want Insomnium's new cd woo

Amorphis - Eclipse
Fall of the Leafe - Vantage
Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain
Jesu - Silver (Pretty intense prog/avante metal in the vein of Isis and Cult of Luna. My only problem is paying full price for a four track, 29-minute album)
Beyond Twilight - The Art Of Love and Making
Mogwai - Mr. Beast (post-rock with some pretty some pretty heavy guitar work thrown in)

good music that has nothing to do with metal:
Controlling the Famous - Automatic City
The Appleseed Cast - Peregrine
Dirty On Purpose - Hallelujah Sirens
Nightmares on Wax - In A Space Outta Sound
Mono - You Are There

It fucking rules. I'm getting it when it comes out though because of the annoying guy in the tracks saying 'This is the new Blind Guardian CD A Twist In The Myth'.

How is it compared with the last album? I loved Nightfall but found ANATO a bit over the top.

Have faith, man! The single wasn't great but it showed promise! Besides, Maiden singles have a tendency to be lesser songs from the album... I mean Can I Play With Madness? Please.

It's kind of the same really, but you need to check it out to judge for yourself, i didn't think ANATO was bad at all.

Kalmah - TBW
Enforsaken - Sinner's Intuition
Enter my Silence - Coordinate: D1SA5T3R

Wintersun - Time
A Skyfire album someday...
An Illnath album someday...

Shitty female vox... boring cleans... not EToS at all. They should have released the album under a new band name. The only decent songs on it are Sweet Lilith of my Dreams and Tar Still Flows. Another Me is alright... I guess.
yeah i kinda thought that there were alittle to many guest vocalists, but i still loved the album

Now I have to download everything Opacity recommends because she usually has some fuckin' gems.

Amen to being interested in the new Wintersun, Insomnium, Blind Guardian, and Mercenary.

Anyone ever heard of Loch Vostok? They're..oh, I dunno, some strange kind of metal. I'd put them as just general 'metal' because I can't quite peg them. Kind of like Satariel. I like their new cd "Destruction Time Again." Also, Gums recommended me this band "Eluveitie" and I think their new MCD "Ven" is from 2006. Good stuff, kind of similar to Runic - folky metal.

And I'm waiting in good faith for Axamenta's new CD, because from the first song that I've been playing over and over it sounds right up my alley.
