I was going through some of my music collection from days long gone and came across some ancient recordings. First, I found a copy of Anthrax Live at L'Amours dated February 25, 1984. I was at that show - 21 years ago. Scary thing is that I still remember going to Anthrax shows in the NY area before FOM was released.

I also found an autographed (by Scott) copy of the 45 (for the young members - a 45 was a small record used to release singles and played at 45rpm on a turntable) for Soldiers of Metal and a pre-Charlie demo tape. All killer stuff.

What are your earliest remembrances of Anthrax, how did you get hooked?

Oooh...I wish I was you, Panic. I never got to see Anthrax before FOM came out. I was an itch in my dads panties back then. *sigh*...oh well, at least I can listen to the bootlegs and at least think of what it was like back then... :Smug:

I first got into Anthrax in 1987 with I'm the man. I was 12 years old! I first saw Anthrax in 1994 with Fight and I was 19! Now I'll be 30 in two months. Where does the time go....

I have one Anthrax 45. It's red and from England. It has I am the Law live, Madhouse live and Bud E Luvbomb on it.

After disocvering Mettalica in 1984 - I first got into Anthrax when I was 16 close to maybe 17 in 1985 when I got an Armed and Dangerous picture disc. The speed metal and crossover scene was on(remember punk had a big influence on Thrash). Then came STD(cassette), ATL(warped cassette), SOE(CD) and a shit load of singles and EP's.

I wish I still had the flyer for the gig they did with DRI, COC, Posessed and No Mercy in 1986. It sort of looked like the insert to STD. I used to have picutres of Freddy Krueger with SOD.

i get into anthrax when i was 20 back in 1986.
my first official (not recorded) cd was state of euphoria 88 in singapore
my my oldest anthrax stuff i have is the soldiers of metal 7 inch (45) and a Anthrax/Overkill/ Steel Agent laminate pass

I was 15 at my 1st Trax show, they had ST as support act, biggest mosh pit I''ve ever seen, scared the shit out me the 1st time, but damn that shit was cool. Trax just released the EP( the one after State) and they had a big zeppelin in the air with a Trax flag!!

Do you have Penikufesin?

Found the "I'm the Man" EP in a bargain bin. Heard their live version of "Caught in a Mosh". Went out and bought "Among the Living" the next day so I could hear the studio version. Have bought all the subsequent albums the day they came out, but didn't truly become an NFF until I heard SOWN.

I first got into anthrax back in 84, I heard the Soldiers of Metal 45 version & they hadn't put an album out yet. Good old W.C.W.P days (college radio station on weekends here on L.I) The 45 was sold out, but in a months I got the Fistful of Metal L.P first pressing it does not say Fistful of Metal on the back cover, anyway the first time I seen them was at the famous roseland gig with metallica & raven. The rest is history. :headbang:

I saw them at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago around 85 or 86.Unfortunately for my 1st heavy metal concert I was very dissapointed in the sound quality.:erk:
