Its Confirmed Metallica Are Coming Here For Big Day Out!!!

Heard this a few weeks ago, and that they'll also do their own tour of Australia shortly afterwards.

Hmm, I wonder if this'll be the first case of me following a band around the country... nah.

I wouldnt mind catching them maybe in Brisbane and Sydney perhaps. Might be a cool road trip.

But most likley will go Big Day Out and their Brisbane show too...like I did with System of a Down.

Why the hell do we have to sit through loads of bands we dont want to see to see Metallica? The BDO SUCKS. Its in January, the temperature is always over 35 degrees and its all crap :(

I guess ill go, but they should do their own damn tour.

.

Now THAT I like

By the way, as a member of the Metallica club, which only cost me 60 dollars US, I want you guys to know that I have the exact same access to news on the Metallica site as the people who didnt pay a cent, so ill be sure and let you all know when theres news about this :)

I'm never going to another BDO after this year's shambles. Great bands, but that D barrier really fucked it up.

Yep... they've been playing ALOT of old material they haven't touched in years. Shit, even the medley they did on the MTV Icon show was all old stuff (with the exception of Sandman)... Hit the Lights, Creeping Death, Battery, Blackened!

Blackened
No Remorse
Harvester Of Sorrow
Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Frantic
The Thing That Should Not Be
St. Anger
Seek And Destroy
One
Battery
----------
Master of Puppets
Nothing Else Matters
Creeping Death
----------
Sad But True
Enter Sandman

What band is your mate in? And how the fuck did they get on the BDO?

I'll probably go to a couple of the Metallica shows, but not the big gay out!

ok i can tell you the band but thats it as they want to keep their identities secret (they dress up as made up cartoon characters to hide themselves)

their name is "Brothel" they played on this year's BDO also and are playing on 3 BDO's next year

they played the Lilydale stage or something like that in Melbourne, its not a big stage.

I will NOT go to see Metallica at the Big Day Out. You wanna know why? Because then I'll have to put up with thousands of no-nothing, trend-surfing dicks who think that Metallica hit their peak when "Load" came out. Plus, there'll be heaps of bands there I won't like, probably far more than those I do like.
My thoughts on this may change however if the Big Day Out line-up was something like this:

Metallica
Iron Maiden
Opeth
Nevermore
Dark Tranquillity
Soilwork
