I've got to say, I used to think Powerballs were some of the greatest amps on the face of the planet when I was playing death metal through my Marshall TSL, but after getting my Dual Recto, my friends Powerball doesn't shine to me as much anymore, and it's made me appreciate my Marshall a lot more too.
I think they're great amps but the sound isn't for me, and the nature of their tone means they're harder to record and they sit in mixes very weird and not as well as Mesas and 5150's in my limited experience.
