Janne/Alexi jam @ ESP (full video)

It is a Kerry King, like someone posted. I think it has a great sound. We also used that a lot on the upcoming album.
And yes either of us can´t play/solo/improvise and we just concentrate on drinkin nowadays.
Greetings from Hollywwod.
You guys are still in LA?? At the rainbow club I bet ;) Call me, I'll buy you a drink hahaha. check your PM.

Holy fucking shit. There we are again. I think you guys have a problem with Alexi. Of course he's not Steve Vai or Satriani or Paul Gilbert and he's not a guitar god
umm...actually yeah, Alexi is a guitar god. just for the record.

If all this is for you a lack of creativity, then tell me what he fuck creativity is.
Seriously. Those who say he isn't creative enough are crazy, or this just isn't their style. Alexi's compositions are among the best out their today. I listen to a lot of genres of music and hardly anyone comes close to his compositions.

This vid is awesome, alexi's playing is tighter. but still did any of u noticed that the keyboard/guitar synchronization isn't as good as it used to be?
example: 2:26

I think they lost that a while ago, like after FTR.

btw, that sucks that they deleted your thread so fast! that was an awesome first post ;)

SWEET!

Since we are talking about Alexi's improvising skills, I will state this - he isn't very good with coming up with new stuff on the fly. Half the time it is a minor arpeggio with tapping in E minor, same diminished shit, same pentatonic/Zakk Wylde repeating runs, and the AMAZING technique he has taken a liking to... natural harmonics with the tremolo! =O

I'm not bashing anyone, but for ALL of you to agree that Alexi is great at improvising is a joke. And please don't say to me "can you play all this, are you in a famous band, have endorsements, etc." It shows in his song writing too, there is a lack of creativity.

wow, "a lack of creativity"? that's pretty fuckin bold of you to say...
until you write a masterpiece, i wouldn't be so quick to criticize others...and, how could you not be bashing him when you called his improvisation a joke??
i'm glad you guys liked the video btw-- i wish you all could've been there to see it! so awesome:kickass:

Thanks for posting this.

yesterday I tried to cover the Interlude (or however its called) I think I needed almost 2 or 3 hours for this short part cause itwas the most difficult thing I've ever tried to play but plz. tell me what do you think..

Oh and I think that Alexis improvised stuff isn't that good nowadays but the thing he did in the end from this guitar heroes recording session video is brilliant... (the one where he played at the beginning two things for sioux city, then this excellent improvised thing and then again a short lick for sioux city)

They obviously like Waltari a bit since, they have used 2 of there songs to improvise on. But it fits, so thats fuckin' kickass

English motherfucker, DO YOU SPEAK IT!?

Nah, I kid :p Did I say he was always "lacking" creativity? No. I actually believe his earlier works and guitar work with Sinergy were his most creative years, now it has become rusted plastic.

About his improvisation IMO is good, because he could be more versatile, but at least he plays cool stuff and plays it in key and everything else and without mistakes (ok everyone makes some mistakes once or twice, even Steve Vai, but it's normal).

About your vid, :worship:notworthy:worship:notworthy:worship:notworthy

Kickass dude, it is a really tricky interlude and you did a great job.

:lol::lol::lol:

Well depending on what you consider a guitar god. Alexi is my alltime idol in guitar player, but for me the ''guitar heroe'' qualification is reserved just for very few people, like atm Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, M.A. Batio or John Petrucci (I don't really like Malmsteen, but I have to recognise he's got chops,). If we call a guitar god people like Zakk Wylde then Alexi is for sure a guitar god and more,

It's just that if we start calling a ''guitar god'' every good player around we'd have more guitar gods than players, (a small list: Jeff Loomis, Muhammed from Necrophagist, Chuck Schuldiner, Roope Latvala, Shannon Ham, Paul Masvidal, Tony Macapline, Dave Weiner, Michael J. Romeo, Michael Amott, Chris Amott, Jari Maaenpa, Sami Raatikainen, Jani Liimatainen, ....). There's too much players with great chops, so we must add some things to call someone a guitar god, call it feeling, special thing, X factor or whatever, but IMO we can't just name as guitar gods that much people. Although, as I said, Alexi is my alltime idol and I would choose him between any of the ones listed above,

i love the fact that alexi has been using his pink CS a lot.

and for the record M.A. Batio is not "good" in the sense of a guitar hero. a guitar hero is someone that has freaking amazing chops, can improvise very well, can songwrite etc. etc. so alexi would be one IMO, so would muhammed suicmez. PG, Vai, Satch. watev, those people were just innovaters that started everything. they revolutionzed modern "shred"/instrumental/whatever guitar

If anyone has great chops, it's MAB, and he's a great improviser, wether you like his compositions/solos or not.

His right hand motion is just OMFG!!! Sometimes it seems as it he wasn't even moving it but he's picking many many notes, I wish I had that little right hand motion-range,

That's what you get when you practice all the time. He still pratices minimum two hours a day, and 10-12 when recording stuff.
