I saw the movie "The French Connection" yesterday and the music was so cool so I look up and saw that the composer was Don Ellis... so I've download couple of his songs... post-bop I think i dunno... and I couldn't hear it! it was so annyoing

Saw it too, yesterday!
Watched The French Connection II, to be exact. Nothing else to watch when you have no Yes (satellite) nor Digital Cables...
I liked the movie, and the soundtrack was pretty good, most of the time anyway.



Jazz is goodness.

Personally, I like swing and old-style bluesy jazz, and that kind of stuff, but jazz that sounds like dressed up easy listening gets on my nerves.

Is jazz too purple for you? Have you heard at least one Miles Davis album from the 50s-60s?

Oscar Peterson's trios are great (at least the few I've listened to).
