Justin Broderick's new project. Who's heard the EP? From the stupid RealAudio sample, it kind of sounds like a doomier Godflesh... with Mellotrons... Long songs, slow. I am intrigued. Maybe I should start up DirectConnect

I've heard an advance of their new LP. Sounds good, but I need to hear it some more. Definitely very somber.

No need to open up that can of worms. We covered it pretty well in that one thread a few months ago. I assume you will purchase the said album later.

This two track "EP" (at just over 40mins, it pushes even the concept of an EP) starts out firmly in the Godflesh paradigm with a classically jarring riff but then something changes. The anger fades away to something almost melancholy and then the vocals come in. Not the bestial roar of before but a clean, almost-frail voice struggles to be heard over the pounding drums..."How much can you take? How much can I take?" Not a threat or challenge, but a plea. This is the sound of a man taken to the brink, staring over the edge of the abyss, and wavering on a knife-edge. And we're only 10 minutes in!
