jocks & metal

I've played football (soccer) all my life and still do, and played rugby and did athletics all the way through school.

In fact I took up the guitar and took it super seriously when I dislocated my shoulder and couldn't play rugby anymore

I was also the only proper metalhead in my whole year during high school.

I played soccer when I was very young, like up to age 12. After that I started DJing instead, and I guess that's where my music interests took over :D

But I do go to the gym three times a week and exercise pretty intensely, but now what I've got a summerjob and music to tend to, I don't always make it three times a week. However, I will never give it up... I think it is very important to keep yourself in shape no matter what <insert label>-head you are. So get out there, sweat it bitches!

I wasn't a loner or a slacker - oh, and if you ever hear someone blathering away about stupid people in metal, give me a call and I'll math the fuckers to death.

I don't have time to walk much, so I tend to run quite a bit; I enjoyed some 'rock climbing' thing my university's rec center has, so I might start doing that some more. Never got much into weights, though... first semester in high school the only P.E. class I could take was weight training at first, so I went from benching 60 to something around 120 or 130 in a few weeks, but after that I lost interest entirely.

lol @ this thread.

I was 2nd in my high school at tennis and squash (notice no team sports). I also train 1-3 hours a day which includes;
- Warm up with a 10 min skip
- 100 squats while standing on my toes
- 100 sit ups
- 100 leg raises
- 3-4 sets of 30 incline pushups
- Then some mild boxing training.

But it's a lot harder to do all that when you have deadlines.

Played in Germany for one year with the Stuttgarter Kickers youth team :-) but had to come back to the States because I couldnt hang with the tough schooling!! :-( Played Division 1 soccer at Oregon State, blew out my knee, then found computers, then found a guitar so no more exercise for me lol

jbroll,
i think it was in mens health i read last year, there was a study/survey that found that most high achieving graduates in uk i think were actually metal listeners :)
