judas priest fucking sucks

Sad Wings of Destiny = essential
obviously

"victim of changes" is top 10 heavy metal songs of all time material

also "rocka rolla" is essential if only for "run of the mill" which, while subtler and not as spectacular as the aforementioned, is perhaps the band's finest moment

in solidarity with mr. halford

I'd have to say I don't agree with the title of the thread. Seeing that it's all opinion (as is everything), it seems that those who were around when the albums were actually released may have a different view than those who have the luxury of absorbing an entire catalog years (decades?) after the fact.

I have no idea what age most of you are, but my first exposure to Priest was when I picked up Defenders of The Faith on vinyl as a new release. I was a 12/13 year old kid and this record kicked my ass. From there I went back and picked up SFV. Those two albums will always be classics to me.

Speaking for people I know, aside from those who disregard the band due to Halford's homosexuality (which is fucking ridiculous), I honestly don't know anyone who would agree that Priest sucks (up through, and including, Defenders).
