KISS: Australian Support Acts, Tour Dates Announced - Feb. 27, 2004

GRINSPOON and SPIDERBAIT have been announced as the support bands on KISS' upcoming tour of Australia, which is scheduled to kick off in early May.

KISS Australian dates w/ GRINSPOON and SPIDERBAIT, according to GRINSPOON's web site:

May 08 – Perth, AUS @ Burswood Dome
May 11 – Adelaide, AUS @ AEC
May 13 – Melbourne, AUS @ Rod Laver
May 17 – Sydney, AUS @ Superdome
May 20 – Brisbane, AUS @ BEC

KISS' Japanese tour dates are as follows:

May 27 – Tokyo, JPN @ Budokan
May 28 - Tokyo, JPN @ Budokan
May 29 - Tokyo, JPN @ Budokan
May 31 - Osaka, JPN @ Castle Hall
Jun. 02 - Nagoya, JPN @ Rainbow Hall

In other news, Melodic Rock is reporting that POISON and BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION have been confirmed as the support bands on KISS' upcoming U.S. tour, which is scheduled to kick off in June. KISS will be touring Australia and Japan without original drummer Peter Criss, who apparently opted not to extend his contractual agreement with the group following the band's recent U.S. dates with AEROSMITH. Replacing Criss on the tour will be longtime on-and-off KISS drummer Eric Singer, according to the web site of the band's Japanese concert promoter, UDO Artists Inc.

All I can say is, BRING BACK LIMP BIZKIT!!!

Nikki Sixx is somewhat reluctant to go on tour with Poison:

"No way in fucking hell would we (BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION or MÖTLEY CRÜE) ever, ever tour with a fucking band like POISON," he said in an online posting. "We have had talks with KISS and I told them very clearly that we would not do the tour if they used POISON. That would be the death of us... I will not be attached to that kind of fake bullshit..."

Yep, Custard supported them in Brisbane in 1997. I think they had a different local band for each show.

We get 2 crappy local bands and they get Poison over there? THAT SUCKS! At least the ticket prices won't be as big as 2 international bands though...

Notice there are 4 days between Melbourne and Sydney. Obviously for the same thing to happen as 1997 & 2001. One show initially, which within 2 days becomes 3 nights here. Gotta start saving for 3 Kiss tickets haha!
