label requesting hard drive with all pro tool files

why did steinberg get their shit together for C5.. i suppose i should just bite the bullet and upgrade.. *sigh*

i think andy just demonstrated how much of a pussy we all are, and how bad ass he is..! aha.

oh well, not like labels are going to be asking me for my hard drive any time soon.. :( wishful thinking!

thanks,

There's no "reset mixer" option in PT? Where it just deletes all the inserts, panning, and resets faders etc?

Yes, Cubase does have that feature.

And Brian, it's pretty idiot proof, after you hit you have to confirm a couple times.

after working with/meeting certain people in my life, i have to respectfully say that nothing is 100% idiot proof. There is always "that guy" somewhere out in the world:lol:

I was just giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Again? Nobody asked how.

Open the mixer (F3) , On the far left hand side near the bottom (right below M, S, R, W) there is a button for resetting the mixer. When you click on it, it gives you the option of resetting only the selected channel or resetting the whole mixer.

This will essentially delete all inserts, sends, returns, panning and fader volume.

As far as the session etc, I'm really not that bothered just cause someone can see your settings etc doesnt mean they can mix like you.

I really like what Andy said here, which just reiterates the whole "andys c4 preset will not change your life" thingy. though i'm not an AE or producer, when i first saw this post i reacted like most i think, wondering how can i send them bounced files so no one can see what i did. but he's right, just cuz you can see how he eq'd his guitar tracks doesnt do anyone else any good unless they have the exact same guitar track. mic position, head, cab, guitar used, etc, all play a role in why that eq was set the way it is. so thats pretty reassuring... you can steal a riff, but you really cant steal a mix right?

I wouldn't be bothered about anyone "stealing" my mix, more them messing with it because some idiot record company exec thinks the bass should be louder or something

i'm never concerned about anyone "stealing" a mix either, but i also do not want anyone monkeying with my mix for whatever reason somewhere down the line. pay me to make changes or pay someone else to totally remix. having said that i've never had anything like that happen. and due to the fact that i send a very stripped down session, i never will.

Just how stripped down are the sessions you send them out of curiosity James?
