Laihos Pickup Change ????

dude im not uber fanboi theres just been some hype about laiho changin pickups to EMG lately...and i wasn wondering what my pickups specs were and found that..it was just a partial source :)

I'll find out for myself soon enough, but since I guess jackson pickups are somewhat of a rarity and not massed produced anymore, Roope just uses those EMG h2's now because...well get the sound he wants. Which doesn't sound half bad in my opinion.

What pickup did Roope use while he was in Stone? Was it the J-50 too?

For sure! Someone I know who owns Roope's first Jackson(which Roope used to record stone's debut album)checked the electronics and it has a j-50bc and je-1000 in it and it sounds like that on all his jacksons.

Jiri and Roope had 22 fret RR's to record the first stone album.
Roope's was:
RR2073
1 hum
poplar body
gold hw
non recessessed ofr
black with yellow bevels
painted neck
Jiri's(RR2074) was basicly the same except it had white bevels a black knob and black tuners.
They then later sold them to help pay for new 24 fretters.

RR2074 belongs to a guy in this band: http://www.myspace.com/sightlessmetal
RR2073 belongs to a resident of finland that happens to be a guitar freak owning over 10 USA Rhoads'.

Oh yeah, I always thought Roope had a RR with yellow Bevels and ONE pickup, because I always saw it on that one concert, but then I saw it later with one single coil pickup so I thought he just upgraded it. NOW i Know.

If either of those guys ever attempted to sell either of those guitars I've been over so hard! :kickass:
Same here,I've badgered Tommi so many times about letting rr2073 go and he says its the last guitar he'll ever sell. And the guy from sightless has a connection to RR2074 so I think we'd probably be better off ordering are own customs !

I don't think it really matters but now on COB's myspace Seymour Duncan is off from top friends and EMG is on. But I don't think it means anything though, cos both logos are on the endorsements part. Bah, I don't care which pickups they use as long as they don't go back to the sound of the AYDY album and tour. I've accepted that they will never take back the old guitar sound, but at least I want them to stay away from the AYDY tour sound. Tuska 03 sound was great IMO, and they were alrady using ESP guitars with EMG pickups, so if they came back to that sound I'd be glad.
