I don't think there is a bad song on TDWOT, but I guess that's not what this poll is asking. I picked Witching Hour only because the intro is very classical and it takes a while for the song to really get up to speed. I still like it a lot though.

And as for Pharoah sucking, I just don't get it. That song rips! I think it's in my top 3 on the album! Russel screaming "Desecrator's of Raaaaaaaaa!" is enough to make the song on it's own. And the chorus doesn't suck! The rythm under the chorus is awesome, and the vocals fit the theme perfectly. I think the idea of a song written from the view point of a dead Egyptian king taking his revenge on grave robbers is cool as hell! Nothing at all wrong with this song if you ask me.

it was tough..but i picked the witching hour
i really love every song on the album...
but if one song had to be sacrificed and omitted, i would choose "the witching hour" to save the other songs.

pharoah IS awesome...
i really like the instrumental section, as well as the pinch harmonic that is in the chorus.
sometimes it is just one note that puts me over the edge in metal ecstacy. like the part in Medusa where all the instruments stop for a second, except for a harmonic on the guitar....

I'll also defend Pharaoh...I love the keyboards in it, and the chorus doesn't strike me as being at odds with the feel of the song. And as mentioned before, the fast part is a great Russell moment.

I really llike the intro to Witching Hour, but it doesn't make up for the rest of the song. It's just umm.. decent I guess. Not that any other bands can top that song anyway.
