Yes they are. I think they really shine on bands with truly great players too (testament, nevermore, etc). He lets a lot more personality breathe through than many people give him credit for IMHO.

Completely agreed, the man has golden ears and really knows what he's doing. I can't take people who are into mixing metal and don't view him as a reference seriously.
