Let's Get Teary-Eyed!!!

Ken's right.
When you listen to it, you feel like you'll never be happy again...

Thats what Damnation did to me but I liked it for awhile. Another winter listening list, def. not spring/summer music.

---------------------------

I dont get the Agalloch thing ? I tried a few, maybe 4, and it didnt grab me in any way. I actually deleted them. ? Please explain what Im not hearing or feeling ? Sounded like maybe dreary celtic music ? Do I need a specific song to catch on ? I like celtic music too, like the kind Steve Morse does.

Schenkadere - PSOG was due to sadness but aside from that I get a welling emotion from things of greatness, what I call "triumph of the human spirit". It moves me, always had it. I dont have any quams with it either except if I cant get away from people and its seen. I dont mind mentioning it I just dont want it seen. Im more apt to start having the chest convulsion thing over something honestly magnificent than say a death. And yea, Im all manchild....... Rugged as hell physically, weak as a child emotionally. Takes all kinds to make a world... some are just worthless :heh:

never really teared up at a song but a nice one that comes to mind is Wishing Well by Angra, mainly the part where he actually says wishing well and it goes into the acoustic, the styx stule patch the keyboardist is using kinda kills it but it adds good cheese

Nah, there's nothign to explain. It's music. Either you like it or you don't. I'd say check out Ashes Against the Grain (the album taht seems most "accessable") and if you don't like it, you don't like agalloch.

What i personally see in agalloch is that they are relaxing and at the same time very powerful. Very "pure" and "organic". Bullshit terms, i know, but still it fits them IMO.

I have never been able to sing along with this without my voice and air leaving me

Talk talk talk talk
I've felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go
I cursed the gloom that set upon us...
But I know that I love you so

it the way the song hits, to read the lyrics? big deal right ? I can listen to it all I want but I cant sing along ?

Same deal here and again watching, listening live

Seems like forever that my eyes have been denied
Home - I'm dreamed of home
I've been twenty years away from all I ever knew
to return would make my dream come true

same deal here

and I know we can't turn back all the years
time reflected in a shade of gray
but I often wonder what could have been
and I still hold on to yesterday

and I know we're not children any more
innocence lost in a sea of gray
but I often wonder what else could be
and I still dream of running away

Put those with the mood the music paints and Im temporarily useless

Slipped her the big one by Danger Danger.....deep stuff that tugs at the heart strings. Bands don't write lyrics like this anymore.

She looked so sweet in her hi-heeled shoes
She really knocked me out
I knew exactly what she wanted to do
There wasn’t any doubt

She looked at me
With a spark in her eye and she said
C’mon baby we could have a good time
So I

Slipped her the big one
I really knocked her out
Slipped her the big one
I really knocked her out

She moved so fast it was quite a surprise
I didn’t need a shove
It felt so good when she took me inside
She fit me like a glove - all the way around

One for the money
Two for the show
I made her an offer and she couldn’t say no
When I

Silpped her the big one
She really knocked me out
Slipped her the big one
She really knocked me out
Slip slip
Slipped her the big one
Slip slip etc etc

Yeah I don't mind hearing a song and it making me sad or happy, whatever the emotion may be...but I'd rather not listen to something categorized as "Funeral Doom" lol!

Sounds a bit morbid...especially when you say you feel like you will never be happy again. Sounds like what a Dementor's song would be from HP lol.

Hey, I knew that girl and she said I was the only one that did that for her, now Im all heartbroke and

I'm not sure if I ever get misty-eyed over a SyX song, but if hard-pressed for answers, I'd have to say Candlelight Fantasia and The Sacrifice.

As for other bands, I'd say early Shaaman. Over Your Head and Fairy Tale are pretty emotional.

I'm an old school metal head and I'm sorry to say...crying and metal don't mix...I always see things about weeping on the Opeth boards...I was hoping it would stay there...crying and metal...come on!

:D Good thing I went back into UM after a bit of a hiatus. Hanging out with guys like schenkadere are what I miss most. Lurking in other forums where people talk about nothing but emo make me hurl. Haha. It's nice to be back.
