Line6 POD HD400 video...

I'm am pretty excited about it especially for the price range. Would make an excellent backup rig. Still don't think its going to replace the AxeFx in anyone's rig though. I talked to the guys at GC yesterday and they are expecting them in next week.

They are cheating though by running it through a real tube power section. I also want to hear the direct sounds from the unit. Through a tube power section even the POD 1 sounded good enough.

Great to hear Ola, I'm looking forward to your shootout!

I'm fairly interested in these as I'm still running a POD 2.3 at home for all my practice needs and quick recording of ideas.
Obviously an Axe Fx would be overkill in that area, but if the POD HDs are actually a real improvement this time around, I'd like to upgrade.

I can't tell from my computer speakers, but to me it still sounds like POD tone. I can't tell that anything has been really improved....at least from this vid.

I am very curious what these models will sound like with decent impulses. I will say the cab models on-board sound better (from the few clips available on the website) than the previous generations. With the better modelling, I bet you get a damn good result at a decent price. I have been using my xt more and more lately, just to throw down ideas. I will always mic up an amp for the end result but, it's pretty enjoyable to just flip a switch and go without waking up the wife to track ideas. I for one will have no problem investing into one of these guys. If it's not worth it, I will return it. It's as simple as that. I'm happy its new models and new processing tech.

And they have a whammy effect that don't sound half bad...

I think I'm gonna get one eventually just to replace my X3 Live. PODs make a good quiet practicing tool, sounds way better than any high gain tube amp will sound at quiet volumes.
I imagine it will rock a pretty good live sound too. Most of the audience wont care that your sound isn't coming from a tube amp anyway, so that's all good.
I'm guessing it's gonna be USB 2.0 again, which is a shame, because Intel supporting USB 3.0 is just around the corner, but I suppose by then I'll just have a really good interface, and hopefully they'll be re-amping software to use, with the HD as the dongle.

I thought the vid sounded good especially considering it was probably direct.

I even thought the samples at the Line 6 site were decent-ish... which is much more than I can say about their older stuff, lol.

I'm actually pretty excited about this. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

^There's another video for the amp. It's called the DT50 or something of the sort. They probably used the SM57 for that, and just left it plugged in.

i think the demo sounds sound alot better than older stuff. like.. amazingly better. and if they can get those sounds, imagine what everyone else can get haha

Would love this as an upgrade to podfarm, I'm not a guitarist and I dont think I can justify a pedalboard I'm not going to use.

Personally, of what I've heard, the amp sounds great - really great. Very interested.

The Pod a bit less so tbh... but maybe I just need to wait for Ola!!
