...proves without a shadow of a doubt to me how good Opeth really is. I sit here and always say they are my favorite band. People here say they are listening to an Opeth CD.
On the way home from work, I was listening to one of my 10 compilation CD's in the changer. I had time to listen to 8 songs in full. When I'm in a real listening mood, I'll skip the "lesser" songs, and play my "top of the list" picks. Well, after skipping some, playing some, etc., The Drapery Falls came on. Instantly, I fell into a listening stuper. Around 10 minutes later, I paused the CD before the next song began, and really noticed how much better Opeth was than my other favorites.
I like all the songs on my compilations - some quite a bit. But Opeth just stood out.
Do any of you have compilation CD's, and when your favorite bands song comes on (hopefully Opeth, though I know Opeth isn't a "favorite" for some), you again realize why you have chosen this band as your favorite?
Well - I had my reminder today.
