all that i have 2 say really quick is that i dont know how many times people state that they take the "bottom of the barrel jobs" Well.....we have countless homeless people that were actually born here and live in boxes. We have people that cant even find a job. Why? cause why would someone pay somebody 12 bucks an hour plus benefits when they can pay someone else 5 and thats it. They hurt those jobs more than they help. They help keep wages down. And not just for the low paying jobs, but for most jobs across the line. School programs get cut, while bilingual classes thrive. Like most people said before, i am all for anyone that takes the time and effort to actually become and american citizen. I also come from Legal immigrants from europe as well.

yep, you got people legally here not working, living off welfare and social security and, people illegally here working and under cutting already low paying jobs and not paying taxes into those said programs. seems like and easy fix to me. one goes home and, the other goes to his/her new job. why should i work for 50 years of my life and pay my tax dollars to support these 2 groups of assholes.

A friend of mine has cancer, he worked a job that did not have great benifits. after his surgey the bills came piling in. he lost everything he had. he lived for a while in a homeless shelter. when i met him it was through the kindness of charity that he was getting back on his feet. all the red tape he had to go through to get some kind of financial help to survive while he was recovering was just sickening. the people of the local church (whom he was not a member of or faith) brought him food and watched over him. he was originaly given 6 months to a year to live. that was 4 years ago. now that he is back on his feet somewhat, he works as hard as his body will let him. he is also a big advocate for the homeless and takes in and tries to help the people you roll your window up to when they approach your car. he now volunteers at the very center that took him in. the next time i see him, i'll tell him it all happened because he is a lazy bum.

Okay mr alex stomp. My father passed away and my mother couldnt work because she is disabled. We lost our house. WE were homeless. Is my mother a "junkie" I think not. I have helped at food banks and homeless shelters. Those people that want help arent junkies, rather they are elderly people, people who have lost their job, and people that really need help. People in the southern states that cant even find a job if they wanted to. Are they all junkies now? Personally, what you said could be considered just as innapropriate as what i said. What have i been doing for the past 20 years....well, going to school, learning the language, trying to make my life better. Why is it that my 21 year old sister who graduated high school cant even find a warehouse job to make ends meet? Because the illegal immigrants have taken them all already. Every construction job, every landscaping job, every fast food restruant, and almost every warehouse job.
They arent picking strawberries or selling oranges and flowers around here.
They claim that they are doing jobs that "others" wont do. But the only reason that "others" wont to them, is because the "others" have been priced out of the jobs.
I wont work for minimum wage or less. Thats $9,888 a year before taxes.
Its just not do-able, unless i could live in a house with 15 other people and skip out on medical bills and such.
I have worked in several warehouses and almost everyone is mexican, alot of the ones I have talked to either got their jobs with no documentation or fake documentation.
Any idea that the gov't implements will be nothing more than amnesty. The border won't be fixed and I really don't see anything changing in the future.

i'm not sure exactly how the legal process of becoming an american citizen works but as long as the newcomers are subject to the same tax system as the rest of us are i don't have a problem.
