Marriot Hotels ban smoking in all rooms

Just an FYI, starting in September, Mariott has banned smoking in all of their hotel holdings. If you smoke in your room they will charge you a $300.00 cleanup fee.

Its a financial decision. Fact is most people these days want smoke-free rooms. I'm sure they regularly have a situation of 'sorry we only have smoking rooms left.' And if you're a non-smoker, its almost impossible to sleep in a room that is regularly smoked in.

Well, considering they have all of your billing info, I'd assume they would just check for signs of someone smoking when they clean your room up and send you a bill afterwards.
