Marshall JVM teaser, noisiest amp ever?

I actually don't like the sound you got, sounds a bit twangy to me,
like playing a telecaster.
Can sound pretty awesome, but doesn't fit the song in my opinion.

About the noise thing, yeah, it's a noisy bastard, but I think it's
capable of a lot cool sounds, but I prefer the 2203kk.

I've went on the JVM amp forum before to lurk, and all these people were going on about how it's a fairly quiet amp for the amount of gain it has. WTF?
If the amp really is THAT noisy, it's a big disappointment.
Yes, I suppose a good noise gate can help, but it just doesn't seem acceptable for a modern high gain amp to be that noisy.
They had all those years to have improved on that, and they churn out something that noisy, what the fuck.

Agree with Morgan.
Something not quite right about the high mids and upper mids.
I've got a reamp that LolzGreg did a while ago, of the JVM as well (was Jeff's Youniversal song), and there was that same weirdness to the high and upper mids.
It's not a bad sound by any means, but it seems like this amp would probably be more suited to a live situation, because the mid range focus seems to suggest it would be excellent for cutting through the live mix.
And of course, playing live, you tend to use a noise gate, so the noise is a little less problematic.
