I have it on good authority that Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult are awesome live, and if you haven't heard them, check them out. Their name is dumb but they are killer female-fronted black metal with a very orthodox and dark flavor. Psyched for Arcturus, Aura Noir, Impetuous Ritual, Master, Melt-Banana (lolwut), Portal, Skepticism, Triptykon and Ufomammut so far. Bulldozer and several others will probably be good too.

Is the Holiday Inn the cheapest/closest to the venue which is why everyone's booking there or something? Just curious. Haven't booked yet, leaning towards Best Western again as it might be dirt cheap right now, but it's pretty far from the venue.


The lineup is a good start for me so far. Love Dragged into Sunlight and been blasting shit tons of Ufomammut lately.

If I remember correctly I stayed there one year w a buddy of mine and it was an absolute shithole. Bugs in the bed, and the lock on the door was a absolute joke. Price was cheap as fuck though.

Best part was when we turned on the tv and had free, cheap, but bad porn. Fucking hilarious.

Is there a liquor store right across the street and a little BBQ stand also?

Haha, oh man it's definitely a hot mess in there. Luckily, never had any bug problems or anything gross, though, but some of the reviews i've read are very close to what you're describing and worse. My only complaint is that the AC doesn't really work, so if it's hot as hell outside it's going to feel just the same in the room. And the shower water is freezing cold, but thats cool.

I think things changed a bit when i stayed there this year… had to walk like 15 minutes for a liquor store and didn't see a BBQ but saw this diamond in the ruff right at the corner:

If everyone's booking in Holiday Inn though, i might just do that to make it easier to party with y'all (and to not chance my luck too much with Best Western…)

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I'd like to go. I'll be 18 way before MDF (this December) and I should have enough funds to pay for everything.

I'm still not entirely sure, but if you guys are cool with me coming along, I'd definitely be down with splitting the costs of one of the rooms.
