im seriously dreading the day when all the newbie opeth fans (you know.. the ones that think blackwater park is the greatest album ever made) find out about novembre... its a catch 22. you want to see novembre finally gain some respect and recognition but at the same time you dont want new fans coming along to ruin the band for you. its hard to explain but with novembre i feel like a have a bond with the music and its close to me, and when new fans come along i feel like they dont appreciate it as much as i do and theyre just listening to it cause its something someone told them to go download. i got sick the day i saw opeth shirts for sale in "hot topic" (for you euro folk, hot topic is a lame trendy wannabe goth chain store). I wont even wear my opeth shirt anymore. Last time i did, i got hit up by some dungeons and dragons dork in the mall, that wanted to sit there and talk about opeths time signatures and how great the new album is. I told him the new album is garbage and went on my way. ahh oh well... back on topic!

I kinda agree with you there man, when I first read your message, I thought I'd not comment it but I was searching for "Novembre" at blabbermouth's, and look what I just found:

It's plain ridiculous that Novembre are compared to Opeth so instinctively. By now, it's safe to assume they've got something in common, but I couldn't ever tell Novembre was "Opeth" influenced neither the other way around. They're in two totally different leagues! Carmelo will never have the vocal solidness Mikael does have when doing alternate growl and clean singing. Mikael has a shorter range than Carmelo and is more traditional with his singing. Carmelo does lots of experiments with vocals and harmonies, melodies, humming. Not to mention songwriting differences: Mikael does all (or almost all) the songwritting work for the band but some of his stuff is pretty much a mix of ideas thrown in the same sack. Novembre work as a group, write great and solid songs with varying levels of melodies and emotions. There's more the "We are Novembre", and not the "I am mikael and this is Opeth".

I would love to see Novembre rise from the underground and get some appreciation and being reckoned for their stuff and have like a legion of honest fans, after all these years writing such awesome songs, they truly deserve it. But I do fear the same thing you do, yet I don't agree with you about your comment regarding Opeth. I got to know Opeth back in blackwater park, but only got to like Opeth when damnation came out (not because it was mellow album, but I couldn't stand bwp for the 2-3 years time period I had the album sitting in my mp3s folder). It was by the advice of 2 co-workers who were all raved about the 2 recent released albums (d1 and d2) who got me retrying to listen to Opeth and so I did until it clicked. My fave Opeth albums are MAYH&Deliverance and I didn't get into Opeth because "it was trendy". However, my appreciation of Opeth has been decreasing day-by-day, mainly due to Ghost Reveries songs, the inclusion of Per (I love this guy, but I sure want Opeth without him) and because the average Opeth fan thinks the world revolves around them. Anyways, we can't put a filter for the "Novembre Fans", nor can the band. It's a thing that must be accepted....

don't like that buildings so much, it reminds me too much of another band's cover. Can't remember the name, it's from Sweden, and used exactly that kind of buildings for the background.
Well, shall see the rest of the artwork.
That's Dark Tranquillity, and they only used buildings like that on the covers of their last ep and their last album. And it's not exactly that kind of buildings, it's just similar. Tell me something: Who drew the artwork for that Novembre album?
