Memorable metal quotes

The dude in Cephalic Carnage says a bunch of stuff like that. He said this before they played "Endless Cycle of Violence" when we opened for them:

"This next song's about eating a Red Top's burger and then masturbating, and then waking up with an onion-smelling dick."

"come back here, drink our beer,
Bend my ear with no idea!
Wrong or right,
A true philosopher.
Defining our performance.

Why don't you get yourself a life?
Just get the fuck out.

We don't care, what they say,
We'll be there tommorrow! like we're here today.
And all the criticism in the world,
Won't change a note we play!!!

Mix it up, throw it down,
We came to play, not to mess around.
We don't care, what they say,
We'll be there tommorrow like we're here today.
Don't do it for the money.
Do it for the thrill.
True to life is what you get,
We're, livin' for the kill.

Drunken
Wisdom"

Let the blackness roll on
Mother's cool reptilian womb
Ain't so cold tonight
My fingers trace the exit wounds
by graveyard light
There's bone dust in my throat and everything is DEAD
but it's all right
Take it easy
You bleed so easy
Bleed me an ocean
Bleed me an ocean tonight
By electric graveyard light
Bleed me an ocean
Let me lie beneath the sky
Teach me how to die

It was over before you were born
Sucked into the vacuum of this universal tomb
Old blossom dies
Like a young man breathes
The insects hum with their hunger and grieve
An icon of pale bone
Static white dream
Blind in the wilderness
Everybody scream
I couldn't find my way
Out the door
We all died
Woke up on the floor

Let the blackness roll on
Mother's cool reptilian womb
Ain't so cold tonight
My fingers trace the exit wounds
by graveyard light
There's bone dust in my throat and everything is DEAD
but it's all right
Take it easy
You bleed so easy
Bleed me an ocean
Bleed me an ocean tonight

An icon of pale bone
Static white dream
Blind in the wilderness
Everybody scream
I couldn't find my way
Out the door
We all died
Woke up on the floor

I ride the painted whore
she gives good universal scream...

Agalloch

"Through vast valleys I wonder
To the highest peaks
On pathways through a wild forgotten landscape
In search of God, in spite of man
'til the lost forsaken endless. . .
This is where I choose to tread

...

Here at the edge of this world
Here I gaze at a pantheon of oak, a citadel of stone
If this grand panorama before me is what you call God. . .
Then God is not dead"

Sometimes Agalloch lyrics slip into cliché but the whole of that song is brilliant.

did dax riggs write these lyrics? I thought it was Audie Petrie (RIP).

Im pretty sure Dax wrote them, but honestly I wouldn't take my word for it anyways. Regardless, it's one of the best songs on the album next to Venus Blue and Graveflower. IMO of course

So is this thread Memorable Metal Quotes or Memorable Metal Lyrics? I was kinda hoping to see funny interview quotes etc..

Fade to black, that first line is just so sad and memorable to me:

I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free

Favorite lyrics from that song.

I walked down to a river and sat in reflection of what had to be done
An offering of crimson flowed into the water below
A wound of spirit from which it floated and faded away

. . .like every hope I've ever had. . .
. . .like every dream I've ever known. . .
It washed away in a tide of longing, a longing for a better world
From my will, my throat, to the river, and into the sea. . .
. . .wash away. . .
. . .fade away. . .

The god of man is a failure
Our fortress is burning against the grain of the shattered sky
Charred birds escape from the ruins and return as cascading blood
Dying bloodbirds pooling, feeding the flood
The god of man is a failure
And all of our shadows are ashes against the grain

“Thy mounds I yearn to see, That thy plastic garment tightly veils,…and thy chasm, that drives me wild…ever so sweet for the goat in me. My intention is sticking out a mile: To evoke thy moist swelling!”

HAHA yes, these. When that CD came in the mail and I was looking at the lyrics and almost thought I was reading them wrong

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn 'round quick, and start to run
Find out I'm the chosen one
Oh no!

Mannequin, Mannequin
They're all the same
Plastic faces
Plastic faces
Society's to blame

Open your eyes
Clear your fuckin' mind
Remove that disguise
Deep in your mind

Replicas of today's world
Comercially programmed
Plastic faces
Plastic faces
Society's to blame

Posing bodies
Unclear minds
Posing bodies
Society's crimes

Pay to be born
Pay to die
Pay to be born
Pay to die

They send you to churches
And sick institutions
Brainless excuses
For mindless abuses
They teach you to worship
Their father, their savior
Follow their footsteps
Broke on their doorsteps

That's not all that memorable. Typical cliches and blandness.

I could explain why and how those lyrics are significant and memorable to people who are not gay, but I don't want to waste my time in doing so.

No, it's because you'd have to explain why the 50,000 other lyrics just like them are not gay as well...

EDIT: Just because a good band has the lyrics does not mean the lyrics are good.
