METAL 2008 - OFFICIAL THREAD

From http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=103503:

Southern California death metallers DEEDS OF FLESH will release their new album, "Of What's to Come", on November 18 via Unique Leader Records. According to the label, the follow-up to 2005's "Crown of Souls" "is nothing short of a masterpiece combining the usual DEEDS OF FLESH sound with many added new elements, twisted and memorable guitar riffs and lead work, blistering drums, powerful vocals and mind blowing bass lines. Easily one of the most highly anticipated new releases in its genre."

DEEDS OF FLESH previously stated that the new CD would be "over-the-top technical" and would include a re-recorded version of "Infecting Them With Falsehood" from 1998's "Inbreeding the Anthropophagi".

The cover art on "Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder" isn't that bad.. the first song 'Tragic Kingdom' off it is... bad.

I downloaded the song because I refuse to give my fucking personal information to CoF myspace and sign that I'm a gayfag. The song is exactly what I thought it will be. It has no idea at all and it's just an average Cradle of Filth. This is exactly where the band was leading to. It's shit. And about the cover, I have never seen worse. BTW, welcome to the forums, MetalNow.

That track has also been discussed here somewhere. The song is bloody catchy and that album will be succesful I'm sure about that. However my personal opinion is that the refrain has stupid melody that's made of two or three stolen melodies mixed together (or it makes that impression because it's fucking simple and if you sing that melody alone it's a fucking childsong). I don't care about Amon Amarth anymore but I think this song is still their -above average-.

Where does it say that Chinese Democracy will be released in September?

It's not confirmed yet..the bands without dates aren't confirmed releases

Steve Knopper of RollingStone.com reports that the major record labels have prepared a superstar-packed holiday shopping season, with U2, Beyoncé, Dr. Dre, Metallica, AC/DC, Jay-Z and top American Idol stars dropping albums through the end of 2008, label sources say.

Even Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy has a chance: A source tells Rolling Stone that a November release date has been selected in case the band decides to put it out.
