there's really some stunningly fantastic music out there that could be classified as "emo". not that Taken is a quintessential emo band per se, but they don't deny their emo roots at all and they are fucking astonishing.

yeah, everyone listen to "Finding Solace In Dissension" by TAKEN and have your little mind blown.

lamb of god = pantera 60%, slayer 30%, melodeath 8%, metalcore 2%

they're really only 'metalcore' when they do breakdowns, and they only have about 5 or 6 of them between their albums.

Well so far, aside from the vocals this is a damned good album. If they could have incorperated something like what The Red Chord or Job For A Cowboy uses then I would just love that, but so far pretty fucking good.
