With bands like Sigh, Vomit Remnants from Japan, Cthonic from Taiwan, anyone here enjoy checking out bands from Asia?

Impiety and Rudra from Singapore are fuckin' awesome.

Gallhammer from Japan are great as well, rather interesting sound. Don't forget Intestine Baalism from Japan, really good melodic death.

Japan's Galneryus and Alhambra are two of my favorite power metal bands.

I had never even heard of an erhu before a friend of mine introduced me to Chthonic. A few months later I bought one on eBay and the following semester I met an exchange student who was an amazing erhu player and even taught me to play a little bit. I think I've posted a picture or two with the two of us posing with our erhus. I already liked the Asian and Middle Eastern sound before then, but the discovering of their application to metal was like a second metal awakening for me and I've been researching and applying ethnic instruments to my own music ever since.
