metal-influenced hardcore recommendations

I want to know of more bands that sound like Converge, Mastodon, and Burnt By The Sun. I really like these bands but I don't know much about hardcore besides that.

Between the Buried and Me. Those guys are fuckin awesome. It's got everything from grinding death metal to good hardcore breakdowns to even a few slow....dare I say...emo moments. Check out their cd The Silent Circus, it's one of my favs.

Atreyu are pretty good, but their new album is weird. I want to like it, but so much of it sounds so blatantly like 80's metal instead of Gothenburg.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. I wasn't expecting so many responses in such a short amount of time!

I downloaded a copy of We Are The Romans by Botch (I've seen that recommended a lot) and I am very impressed.

I have heard Atreyu and I found it atrocious.

I agree with what Cryptkeeper said about them. And not that it has anything to do with their music, but I really hate their Hot Topic image.

Saw 'em at Ozzfest and when they opened for Lamb Of God, and I can say without any doubts that Atreyu are all homosexuals.

"Let me see those spirit(?) fingers!"

I just about died laughing after I heard that, and what was even funnier was when people towards the front put their hands in the air and started wiggling their fingers!!!
