metal-influenced hardcore recommendations

Agreed.
The next Ion Dissonance will be better than what was done, more chaotic and dissonant, and I prefer the first The End.
Lethargy is also pretty good !

Thought Industry - Assassins, Toads and God's flesh
is also an awesome album, the others are less hardcore.

FATA's first album was pretty decent, but their new one doesn't impress me, plus Fran's (the drummer/clean singer) voice has just gotten too whiny and nasal for me to like.
I meant the first album, not The Fiction We Live.

Good suggestions, both those bands are fuckin ace!

Some suggestions:

The Locust
Cave In (beyond hypothermia + Until your heart stops)
Crowpath

Caliban = good german death/metalcore. They aren't too well known in the states yet but I'm sure they will be soon. I'm seeing them in a couple weeks too :)

Why haven't I suggessted them already ready?,

Heaven Shall Burn. Their latest Antigone rules everything.

And why have I forgotten how to spell suggested?....

I don't think anyone recommended these yet:

Madman Is Absolute
On Broken Wings
Bloodlet
Vision of Disorder (the self titled CD, not the new mallcore stuff)
Shai Hulud
Ascension
Candiria (except for the new CD, which sucks)

I reccomended Bloodlet and I almost mentioned VoD and Shai Hulud. VoD is just straight up hardcore though, but the s/t and Imprint are excellent albums.

Check out:

Raised Fist - Ignoring The Guidelines, Fuel, Dedication http://www.burningheart.com/bands/index.php?id=51)

Breach - Friction, It's Me God, Venom, Old Songs vs New Beats EP (http://www.burningheart.com/bands/index.php?id=136)

Nine - Listen. , Kissed By The Misanthrope, Lights Out (http://www.burningheart.com/bands/index.php?id=88)

Within Reach - Reconsider/Reconstruct MCD, Strength Through Diversity, Fall From Grace, Complaints Ignored (http://www.badtasterecords.se/withinreach/)

And various stuff from Buried Alive, Downset and Integrity.

Oops, I must've missed that. I do think that VoD's s/t CD is quite metal influenced though.

Yeah, I prefer Transfer Trachea... over Within Dividia too. While a good album, nothing on Within Dividia can top "Entirety in Infancy." The End's first singer is now in a band called Mare. Last I heard, they weren't signed yet, but they do have a couple mp3s available. Or did have, rather, since hxcmp3.com seems to be down now.
