Metal scene in Atlanta

Ender's Game is indeed awesome! Can't believe I haven't heard of them before. I'm going to try and go to their august show, definitely.

Wow... now I hafta go look these guys up! If nothing else, the band name rocks (yes, I'm a geek and read that book). :) The August show is a mere month away, so I think we could make reasonable plans to meet on a Thursday. If nothing else, we could try to make plans for that weekend...? What do y'all think?

Also, we might want to try and get a list of e-mail addresses so we can send ideas for outing, etc back and forth without flooding the board here. :D

I don't get off work until 11:00pm on thursday, curses...but! the show doesn't start until 9...hope ender's game is playing last :/ . I'll try and find out - I'm all for getting together that weekend too, or that night as its the last day of my work week :p .

Since a lot of the Atlanta locals have been paying attention to this thread, I thought I'd ask y'all here...

What does everyone think of the local band Lilitu? I've heard people say they like them before, but I was curious to see what y'all said. Also, any of you non-Atlantans that have heard of them... what do you think?

Thanks!

i liked them. they opened for opeth and lacuna coil a month ago. in all honesty, i wished they'd played yakuza's set for them. great opener, second sucked, third and fourth rocked. if i kept up with them, i'd definintely be at more of their concerts. i'd never heard of them previous to that concert, and if i like you live having never heard you, you're doing good. :)

Ah, Lilitu, they are awesome. i saw them at the show that Freakchylde is talking about. they blem Yakuza off of the stage, and they hadn't even played yet. wish they wouldn't have, Lilitu would have been a much better substitute. The guys from Lilitu were in the back near the stairs at the InFlames show in Atlanta, i talked to the singer for a bit. they rocked out.

Just in case anyone didn't know, Ender's Game's show on the 21st is a no-go :( . I talked to one of the guys and he said it just fell through, and though they're trying to line another pre-september show up, it may not happen. I still say all willing parties should get together for some drinks or something prior to ProgPower though!

Not sure about the other members, but the lead singer of lilitu was at progpower, i stopped and saw this guy on a bench across from the laser's edge records, he had his head down looking at a cd, and i saw him. i walked by not thinking it was him, and my friend came up to me and said that that was the singer for lilitu. so we went and talked to him and it was him. he said that they were playing a local show pretty soon and wanted us to be there.

yes, Derek and I (Jason). I was watching evergrey while he was reading his little zine. You guys missed the show at the Masq. on August 29th with Enders Game. I wish people would get out to see the local bands here in Atlanta. It is very depressing not having people show up because all they care about seeing is National Acts.

Thanks for all that enjoy our band and that caught our set with Lacuna Coil and Opeth!

Also a message board for Atlanta metal was started a couple of months ago. You can find out about bands and shows here: www.geocities.com/atlantametal

And this site was started recently with links to lots of Atlanta/Georiga metal bands past and present. The other pieces of info on it like shows don't seem to be updated that well so far, but it's a start: http://atlantametal.tripod.com

Speaking of local shows, is anyone going to the Lacuna Coil / Type O Negative show this Thursday at the Masquerade? It would be cool to meet up with those of you I didn't get a chance to talk to over the weekend.
