Metal to Sleep to?

I generally put on whatever I want to listen to, but occasionally I do put on something that I feel would help me get to sleep faster, and when I do, it tends to be albums like

Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Burzum - Filosofem
Strid - Strid
Varathron - His Majesty At The Swamp
Katatonia - Dance Of December Souls
Katatonia - Brave Murder Day
Summoning - Minas Morgul
Summoning - Dol Guldur
Summoning - Oath Bound

Pretty much any traditional Doom Metal as well.

Most of the week I'm usually so glad to be able to relax by the end of the day that I just pass out too fast to touch the stereo. I could fall asleep to fucking harsh noise artists if it came down to it, but if I do choose to throw on something before bed, it's almost never metal. Anything with a strong beat isn't preferable in that context.

Dark Ambient or slow black metal. Dark Sanctuary, Elend, and Ildjarn's ambient records have been my favorites recently.

Agalloch and Opeth have worked in the past as well

Also Drudkh

the more technical, and less catchy the easier it helps to fgall asleep tooo ite.

I usually don't go to sleep to music, but if I were to do so...
Something pretty chill...black metal will do it, as long as the snare is pretty far back in the mix...
Anything catchy or agressive and I won't be able to fall asleep, so death metal, thrash, and power metal is out.

If I put on any music at all while I'm sleeping it's usually classical or trance. When I was younger, I listened to Static-X's Wisconsin Death Trip a few times, but I don't think I've listened to any metal while sleeping recently except for Rain Fell Within.

Especially this song:

(and don't name bands that bore you to sleep)
If it weren't for this I'd have just recommended watching baseball.

Don't you find it stupid - using metal for falling asleep? ;)

I dont really use it as an aid to fall asleep. Its more of a "I'm going to be laying here bored anyway until I pass out, so I might as well listen to music" kind of thing. Usually though I would listen to Porcupine Tree if I thought it would help me dose off quicker.
