METALLICA 10/04 ATL ROLLCALL!

Have fun. Please post a review.
I saw this tour back in January.
Metallica were great, though I made the realization that I have seen them WAY too many times. No surprises for me, having seen them probably 10 times now over the years. It comes to the point where you know from the first 2 words that James says what song is coming up.

Should be a good gig nonetheless, as they always perform great live.

Metallica were always a "Road Warrior" band. Glad to see they are keeping up as an active live band.

Won't be there unless I get free or cheeep tickets or something....which is unlikely since WREK didn't get any staff or contest tickets for the show.

I'll always treasure my great 'Tallica roadtrip memories, the 'snake-pit' shows, hanging out backstage and being treated like royalty by them "back in the day".......but my days of following them around to multiple gigs are long over.

I won't stop seeing them just as long as they keep on playing locally. Metallica has been my 2nd favorite band since the 80s. I am also very much looking forward to seeing Lamb Of God for the first time! I have very good seats near the floor, as well! See y'all there!

Did you go to the first or second night in Rosemont, BTW? I got an eye/earwitness account of the second evening's show and it sounded spectacular.:kickass:

I went to the 2nd night.
I have the soundboard recording of it too, as I purchased the ticket package that came with the D/L of the show and the new CD.

Yeah, it was a great performance.

I really wish Metallica would take more chances with their setlist.
They really don't have to play One, Sandman, and Nothing Else Matters at EVERY show. Or, esp if they are going to play multiple nights in a city, play a completely different setlist.

I have always respected the handful of bands who do/did this, like Pearl Jam, Grateful Dead, etc (Regardless of what I think of thier music, they truly cater their shows to their fans).

I heard that they played at least a 50% different set the night before, which is really cool. Bon Jovi has really been changing their setlist up a lot in recent years, as well. I think bands like Maiden and Priest should follow suit. I really don't need to hear them play NEM, Enter Sandman, or The Unforgiven at this show. That was all great the first few times. Time for change! Point agreed upon!:kickass:

Yep, Priest does a pretty good job of changing things up between tours.
Sure, many of the staples are always there, but not 75% of the setlist, like with Metallica.

I have heard that the 2 Chicago dates were vastly different, setlist wise. I could live without hearing anything from TBA on Sunday night, but hell would surely freeze over first.

I looked up their setlist and I could kill myself for not going. I feel so sick right now! They played my fave Metallica tune, which is RTL, and I wasn't even there to hear it! What the fuck is wrong with me?! I'd kill myself right now if I didn't have anything else to live for. That's just how bad I feel right now.:heh::waah::erk:

7th Saviour, you need to get a grip! Seriously, Metallica or any other band for that matter, isn't worth getting that worked up for.

~Brian~

I have to side with these guys 7th Saviour.

If you would get so worked up, why didn't you go in the first place?

Furthermore, it's Metallica. I am sure they will be back next year.

I loved the show last night. Had a pretty good spot on the floor but with the center stage they are all over the place but regarding the setlist I think it was one of the best setlists on the tour so far. Ride The Lightning, No Remorse, Sanitarium,Blackened,Last Caress and Hit the Lights. Thats kick ass.

Seen them in Tampa on Saturday night and they were awesome. The new songs went over really good. I just wish they would stop playing 'Nothing Else Matters'.:yuk:
