they just sound like any unknown / amatuer thrash band from the late 80s to me. Better than their last single "St Anus" though... not that it would be easy to be worse than that stinkfest.

I think its one of Metallica's best songs they've ever written, personally. Especially at the VMA's, oh my god, it was chopped down... but the SOUND of it, I had to get out of my chair and start headbanging. Just the dynamics of the song... and the speed they played it at VMA's... ohhhh, I shat my pants.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do like it. I do however think that some of the material on St Anger (The Unnamed Feeling in particular) is some of Metallica's best work.

I don't understand why they don't try to promote other stuff from this album. On the summer sanitarium they only played St-Anger at most shows, then they started playing Frantic. Before the release they had played frantic at a couple of place. Now they release it as a single. Fair enough it's the better song of the album. St-Anger (the song) is a mess IMO, and dirty window, sweet amber and unnamed feeling are a thousand times better than this one and they don't get played.
If they play more than 2 songs off St. Anger when I see them live, the danish troll gets a bottle in the head.
