what are good mic cables i could get for my studio?

i currenlty have a couple of monster golds for vocals and guitars and planet waves for drums.

im gonna be looking to get some good mic pre's soon so i know cables are important. some people have told me mogami gold cables. i found 2 at guitar center can someone tell me what the difference is, or rather which one would be better for what i'm doing. thanks

also is there a good place to get a bunch of mogami cables.

i need the tiny cables also for pedals and hooking up my rack. im ready to get a total upgrade and spend hundreds on new cables so my thousands upon thousands of dollars can sound like the $$$ i paid for them.

in this department i'm a complete noobie. thank for your help byt the way.

but i;m guessing i buy the actual cables and then physically add the connectors at the end. i get a like a "hose" type kind of a bunch of cables for mics and guitars and stuff and i manually place the connectors on?

buy RAW mogami mic cable preferably the QUAD lead with braided shield. then get your hands on the Nuetrik connectors DO NOT BUY MONTER CABLE. it is a fucking rip off!!!!! you can build your own cables for 1/3 the cost fo that monster crap!!!!!!! mogami makes good stuff and any decent audio/video company has it by the mile!!! as well as the connectors

http://www.markertek.com/ is where I get my goods for the studio!!

I'm in the roll-your-on school too unless you just need 1 (fast). Mogami cable is great. Canare and Belden will also work well.
Here is a tutorial on how to make them:

Neutrik also makes some solderless xlr connectors. I tried one for the hell of it and it still works well. I haven't A/B'ed it with a soldered cable. Honestly, tho soldering is a good skill to have.

dumb question but instrument cables and mic cables have different actual cables as well as connectors (obviosuly) correct?

and also is there anywhere i can get a guide on how to solder stuff? what tools i will need as well as how to do it properly.

so obviouly guitar and instrument cables are differt than mic cables and such.

ok i'm gonna google the terms "rosin core"

and "flux core solder" to see waht the hell they are.

like i said when it comes to music and making an amp sound good and setting up a guitar and all that crap i know my stuff, but this whole "studio engineering" stuff is all new to me but i am doign my best to learn on the fly so i can start recording bands and stuff cuz i am really loving production and i think i'm doing pretty good with a crappy pc, good mics, good room, good musical gear, and a presonus firepod with sonar 6...

i got decent stuff but i wanna learn everything there is to know, i guess wiring is where i'm currently at. thanks guys, i will ask more questions as they come in this topic once i research soldering more and those aforementioned words.

unless someone wants to give me a quick crash course on the "soldering for dummies" and all the lingo of it.

were is some cheap websites to buy cable and connectors?

I thought about doing this awhile ago but just bought a pack of 10 cables. Now some are going bad and i would like to just build a bunch more.
