Well said. In this case "grammar" can in no way be used as an adjective. An adjective is a descriptive word. You cannot say, "That is a completely grammar error" without having a gramatical error in the sentence.

'Due to' is exchangeable with 'attributable to'. When in doubt, substitute one for the other and see if it makes sense. If it does, you're good. Usually, though, people say 'due to' when what they really mean is 'because of' or 'owing to'.
