Ok so this is a more dynamic song we just finished demoing... It has some jazz and trippy parts mixed with some more heavier aggressive parts soo it should be a break from the norm of a straight forward metal song... I included a link to download a reference mix that just has unprocessed dry drums, only one guitar (scratch guitar for the mellow verses and jazz parts), no bass, and vox jesse mixed in to get the vibe if needed... It is just meant to listen to for the vocal ideas effects wise jesse had...

vox - jesse recorded the vox at home... I put in the dry vox as well as the vox w/ effects that jesse put on to use as a reference to what kinda of vibe he wants for certain parts... You can process the screams however you want for the most part but try to get a similar vibe for the spoken word/background and singing parts...

bass - DI recorded at home by the bassist unprocessed... there should be one track that has an overdubbed bass distortion part

guitars - No DI's :( 5150 II with TS into mesa 4x12 miced with sm57 and beta52... I included both mics for all the guitars parts soo you can blend however you desire... I usually just use the 57 as the main and the 52 as a low support around 4 - 6db below the 57...

drums - recorded unprocessed in the jam space with average mics soo nothing spectacular... I made sure snare and kick has solid transients for replacement and low bleed... I would suggest eqing and compressing the original snare to make adequate support for ghost notes in the jazz/mellower parts and leave the cracks for replacing unless you can rock ghost notes well enough with replacing... ALso I had to use a condensor mic for the floor tom as it was the only thing left soo you may have to silence everything but the actual floor toms hits because it picked up a ton of the rest of the kit... Gating may be tricky with it... There is a couple of room mics that you can fuck around with but like I said it was an untreated room sooo things may be a little boxy...

So have fun guys and feel free to post up links to your mixes when you finish them... Like I said before we are looking for a possible mixer for the full length we are recording in march/april soo polishing a turd of a demo will be a solid sign for the right guy for the job... The album will be recorded at the studio I work at with a trident board, and an excellent choice of mics and preamps soo the quality will be alot better...

have them in one rar file and upload to megaupload (don't use rapidshare)

you usually get 500kb a sec there. :headbang:
