yeah, impressive i suppose but fonseca isn’t good and i hate that ‘instagram boxer’ since i’m not a teenage girl. i’m hoping linares boxes his little gay face off if that’s who he fights next. there are loads of good potential fights at that weight though: lomachenko and lopez seem to be heading for a clash (which will fucking own) so they’re off the table for now, they’d both destroy him anyway probably. there’s also gervonta tank davis (floyd’s protege especially when it comes to punching women) and devin haney (slick 21 year old) out there which would be quality fights. i guess they’ll all avoid each other like usual though

Lmfao. I dont wanna hear anyone talk about Deontay Wilder again.

well fuck, I had wanted to watch this. I forgot it was tonight. I was literally freezing my ass off all night at the Fasnacht in Helvetia, WV.

guess I’ll have to watch it later today. He should be 2-0 vs Wilder at this point.

part 4 here if you need a link

fun 'fight' but really more of a massacre lol. just need to see fury joshua now, which will end the same way IMO

I'm not surprised at the outcome, but the way it was achieved was shocking. I haven't been this surprised by the way a fight was won since Pacquiao-Marquez IV.

Appreciate the link but I watched it on youtube. What a fucking beatdown. Wilder literally never had a chance. He never hurt Fury, fuck he barely even hit him... and his face was twisted to a point of barely being recognizable by the end. His corner was defeated before him. Probably good on them for ending it. Dummy has a warrior heart though... said he wanted to go out on his shield.

so happy to see my boy chocolatito get a big comeback win last night. i thought he was done after getting wrecked by the bigger beast that is rungvisai but he looked like his vintage self and beat up an unbeaten world champ. hopefully he's cemented himself as an all-time great even in the mainstream after this.

recommend watching from 36 mins to see the end.

That's not actually from today's fight lol but I disagree I thought it was a good fight. Leg-kick clinic and he didn't fight like a retard and allow Romero to open up on him too much (those counter overhand lefts were dangerous though). Pretty funny people seem to be saying the Weili Zhang v Joanna Jedrzejczyk was more exciting. All I saw was two clowns throwing mindless insignificant strikes at each other and getting nowhere.

Can't be mad at the guy for sticking to a smart gameplan.

lmfao coronavirus punches to the forehead.

i only saw a short highlights thing tbf so i can't comment on this card, buti'm with you on this to a point. i love 'the sweet science' and i prefer a tactical showcase of high skill over people just moronically whaling on each other, but i'm in the minority there and i'm not sure i'd ever argue it's more exciting. it's true of most sports that staying disciplined and sticking to a gameplan usually leads to a more dull spectacle, excitement tends to involve risk-taking and a bit of chaos. i love i.e. rigondeaux who's one of the greatest technicians i've ever seen, but he's extremely unpopular and i would struggle to sell one of his risk-averse defensive clinics to the majority of people lol

of course the truly great fights have a mixture of all those qualities. i got into the fight game through the barrera/morales era and several of their fights are a prime example. one of my favourites was morales pacquiao I, where morales outboxed him beautifully (this was just after pac had burst onto the scene and ran through barrera in a way nobody ever had) and was definitely gonna get the decision, but then for the 12th round he turns southpaw and goes toe-to-toe with him like an absolute badass, and when he was asked afterwards why he did it he shrugged and was like "did you like it?"

I don't know shit about boxing but my brother is a fanatic and he's talked about that exact fight before I think. I gotta check it out I guess. :D

But yeah, I guess that's a fair point. It definitely wasn't the fight the crowd clearly wanted nor was it the fight Romero wanted (at the 5th round buzzer he actually roared in Israel's face lmfao) but I tend to favour fights most consider boring tbh. Not that I don't get hyped over fights that end in the first few seconds because someone launched a flying knee haha. For me this was exciting to watch because I liked seeing Romero's frustration with being unable to draw Israel into a slugfest, and then when his leg started to go he started launching some takedowns that got stuffed every time.

Clearly he wanted to go in there and just rampage and I liked seeing that energy get totally deflated. Also Romero was too relaxed I felt, he didn't start to fight more urgently towards the end of the fight and he had to know he was losing by points, or at the very least was in a draw. He can complain all he likes and do the whole "come on and fight me" shtick too but it's on him for not creating his own opportunities and being manipulated by Israel's gameplan the whole fight.
